Prayer Request for A Tiny Baby (Update in post #12850)
Myself | 8-11-03 | Brad's Gramma

Posted on 08/11/2003 12:57:30 PM PDT by Brad’s Gramma

If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. He’s the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.

Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2” long.

He’s a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that he’s starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.

I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious…and this is her reply…” A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.”

On a personal note, I’ve read the emails daily from my friend. I’ve known her for years, I’ve heard her talking about her family for years…but I’ve got to tell you that I’m SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.

Father God, we lift up Logan’s little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until he’s grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Fellow Freepers…….I bring you Logan!!!

Dear Angels touch this sweet boy and eliminate those fluids for him. Thank You!

I wanted to post my updates Tex:

No word on Cooper, and like you say the No News-Good News adage applies

It seems Tom is coming around, slowly but positively
The amazing news is when Anthony was home on his 30 day he we found out he is going to be a Daddy next month ;)

With Peter : This is straight from My Ei recently:

Hello, my sweet sis...

He had another Chemo session today and had labs done for our Kidney Doc visit next Wed. What a way to spend the day!
He feels better, but we can't be sure of much until the next set of numbers are reviewed.

And, he's got to watch his sodium, potassium and protein intake, due to the kidney failure.

His Creatinine improved from the hospital to the last doctor visit, but his potassium rose. When he was hospitalized, he got "stuff" to bring the potassium down, but hadn't had that until we saw the doc. and got a scrip for it....$60 bucks a bottle!

Also, his red cell count was higher, almost 12, so that means no Procrit shots for now.

Lady Doc:

His BUN rate was way high, but the doctor didn't say anything about that...it's a combo of his condition and the drug regimen, I guess...maybe you could ask your doctor friend about what all the BUN number means????

Also Tex:

I wanted to share a gift that was given to me last week.

My little sister who has been a Demoncrat for all of her voting life, 20 years, after alot of soul-searching told me she is changing her party! Not just that BUT she is now a Fighting Freeper -smiles- Not only has she made me proud with her decision and joining here, but to the bravery of changing her lifelong way of voting, searching her soul . Ellie sweetie, I am so very proud of you and Thank God!

Boy, JP! You gave us a lot of info to digest in that short note!
LOL!

I praise the Lord for what appears to be progress for Cooper.
Just like we saw with Logan, sometimes this progress is in the form of tiny baby steps.
We praise you for whatever you give Cooper and us, dear Lord.

AND......you've got a new baby on the horizon!
Praise God! The little ones are the light and love of the world!

Ellie, welcome to FR.
There are no more staunch Republicans than the Demoncrats who have seen the light.
Follow your sister's lead until you get your feet on the ground, and you'll never go wrong.
God bless you for being here.

Catching up....

I Love love LOVE the 2003-2004 photos of Logan snuggling with his mum. Sooooo much love comes thru! Enough to make this fledgling year a good one for the world, I swear!

Ongoing prayers for any and all little upsets and perceived setbacks Logan encounters. You can tell by his grin that he really wants to stay here on earth with his mum and with all who love and care for him. I'm full of faith that God will keep this precious baby as strong as he needs to be to overcome every obstacle.

Cyberhugs and blessings,
PW

Soooo TC that sounded good.

Lil Termite big lessons to learn.

Your a "on the go" kinda guy so I Pray and Trust that you will let Mom,Dad,Nana and the other strategic careproviders know just what you expect to get the job done. Born Leader.

Hang in there Logan...

BTW I had a moment today where I was a little short tempered in a Pharmacy and to calm down I looked at the shelf supplies...I saw the cutest lil guy handmade winter slippers and smiled and thought cooool who do I know who has feet this tiny and "Logan" came to mind ...thanks dude for coming to mind as it diffused my attitude..

I will also post the link here for those who'd like to learn more. I once worked with someone who had surgery to fix this malformation and he's got a very informative website on this.

Hi Uncle Tonkin...

I'm sorry you're not feeling good. Please take care of yourself! Nana and Mommy aren't on the computer much these days... they've been busy with me... but we pray every day for you.

It seems the New Year has ushered in a lot of things that have kept us all busy and a lot on all of our minds.

I love you Uncle Tonkin :)

LOGAN UPDATE:

Our boy is going to have to have the surgery to correct the hydrocele.
The exact date for this has not been set yet.
The doctor said it wasn't an emergency, but it had to be done.
All of his other health items are about the same.
He's still on his canula for oxygen, and he's still throwing up, but not as often as was a couple of weeks ago.
He weighs 10 pounds 14 ounces (?).
(Termite, if you're fatter than that, please correct me.)
I've talked to him several times this week, and I gotta say that he's turned into a regular jabber jaw!

He's at the beach this weekend, surfing and scuba diving, so he's not real worried about anything.
He's galavanting around with some hot (?) chicks!

AND NOW...........PICTURES!!

LOGAN'S MAIN PAGE!

LOGAN'S THUMBNAIL PAGE!

LOGAN'S LATEST LOVE PICS!

YOU GO, TERMITE!
