Prayer Request for A Tiny Baby (Update in post #12850)
Myself | 8-11-03 | Brad's Gramma

Posted on 08/11/2003 12:57:30 PM PDT by Brad’s Gramma

If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. He’s the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.

Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2” long.

He’s a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that he’s starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.

I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious…and this is her reply…” A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.”

On a personal note, I’ve read the emails daily from my friend. I’ve known her for years, I’ve heard her talking about her family for years…but I’ve got to tell you that I’m SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.

Father God, we lift up Logan’s little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until he’s grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Fellow Freepers…….I bring you Logan!!!

I have been thinking of and praying for Faith. My sister suffers from some of the same ailments. She has not been told she has MS. yet, but has been undergoing many tests. The last thing she was told, by specialists at the Celevland Clinic, was that her nerological disorders could be a result of her Narcolepsy. She is on meication, but some days she can hardly walk. Sshe has had surgerys on her back and knees, but has lost sensation on and off in her hands and feet. She is only 28.

I pray that both Faith and my sister Kristi ,can find relief from the daily pain that comes from these disorders. I am glad Faith is doing better. I am sure it helped to have her Dad around for awhile. Prayers will continue for Faith.

"My sister suffers from some of the same ailments. She has not been told she has MS."

The diagnosis for MS is a process of elimination.
Many tests are run and many things are discounted before they pronounce the symptoms as MS.
Of course, her loss of feeling in her hands and feet is a prime symptom.

I would like to inform everyone, though, that the diagnosis of MS is not the end of the world.
There are many MS patients who say that they have gained as much as they lost.
It requires acceptance by the patient, the spouse and all members of the family, first and foremost, and a belief that life can go on with God's help.

The advancements in the treatment of MS are continuing at a tremendous pace, and there are drugs on the market today which promise not only to relieve the destruction of the myelin, but to restore some that has already been lost.
From what I've read, this disease is like so many today - there may not ever be a "cure", but there will be an alleviation of the symptoms very shortly.

God sends people to this earth with a mission to help, and they stand on the shoulders of all those who came before.
It's just a matter of time before there will be a major breakthrough, and it may already have happened.

I will pray for Kristi, dear one.
"Let your heart not be troubled."
God is in control - now and always.

BTW: Faith was 35 when she was diagnosed, and there was never a better specimen of physical fitness than she was when she began to have symptoms.
It's a strange disease with many peaks and valleys.

Faith rejoices on the peaks, and lets God carry her through the valleys.
