If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. Hes the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.
Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2 long.
Hes a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that hes starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.
I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious
and this is her reply
A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.
On a personal note, Ive read the emails daily from my friend. Ive known her for years, Ive heard her talking about her family for years
but Ive got to tell you that Im SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.
Father God, we lift up Logans little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until hes grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus Name, Amen

Thanks for the PING GRAMMA!
he is AMAZING and looks so good!
I will keep up my praying... told my neighbor about him yesterday (the one with the 2 premies who are both fine) she said that God gives them special abilities before they are born... he knows they will need them!
She is so great! I'm sure she's praying too!
Keep me pinged and posted (I don't even care if I'm double pinged!)!
Take care lady!!!

Thanks for the updates. I'm so glad everything is going well.
We had a blessing today. My father in law had a carotid endarterectomy this morning. No complications and he's doing well.
God does good work!

Every nite before bedtime, my husband calls me to the computer for our Logan update. We even have a pet name for him. We call him "peanut", cuz he's so tiny. Then once in bed we pray for God to watch over him one more day. I even found myself thinking about him today at work, and wondered how a parent gets thru it every day. My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for about 5 years now, and are taking new infertility measures. We hope to have a family soon...We hope with all our heart that Peanut comes home soon. God bless you all. Miracles do happen!

My sister had complications with her baby and had to have an emergency c-section two months prior to the delivery date. It is very important that "praying freepers" pray over Logan's lungs and immune system. From what I understand, infection is the biggest killer of preemies. So please everybody pray that Logan is protected from ALL infections and that his lungs function properly.

Thanks for the update, BG.
These little warriors are something to witness!
In about sixteen years his moma can look at that strapping 160 pound kid playing linebacker for his high school football team and wonder if all of this was just a dream.
Prayers continuing, moma.
God bless.....

My precious son was 3 months early also -- he's now a very precocious 4-year-old. Let me know if you have questions, need help, or just want to talk!

Logan Update! I'm sorry there's no pictures. His Grandma said she'd send one tomorrow. She also said he's changing daily, with a huge grin placed behind that sentence. I won't be able to post anything till later in the afternoon. Thanks again, you've all been more than fantastic. God Bless you ALL!!!! Logan's mom called late last evening when she got back from the hospital and the little one continues to do well. He had refused to nurse yesterday but they think it's because he's being fed so much thru the feeding tube. He is now up to 13 cc's per feeding and for such a little tummy, add the nutrient to that and it's a bunch!
I do want to ask that you please tell the "Freepers" that she is so touched by their prayers and well wishes. Every night when she leaves the baby about 11 pm, she has always said a prayer at his "bedside". She told me last night that she told Logan it was time he also said a prayer, and so "they" prayed a prayer of thanks for all of the wonderful people on the "Freepers" list.
We DO know, that it is the continuing chain of prayers that keeps Logan on this wonderful, healing road he is presently traveling in his journey.
Logan continues to amaze the staff at his well being. Tomorrow he will be 3 weeks young. He changes daily and now even his little cheeks are beginning to fill out. He is attaining that "baby pink" color.
At the present time, he has been able to thwart off infections..... which the staff told us "always" happens between 2 and 3 weeks of age. So far, Logan has only had 2 minor infections that were taken care of within a matter of several days. But no BIG ones to date! Thank Almighty God.
Logan is truly a miracle. To give hope to others, I do want to give all a bit of personal information. His Mommy is soon to be 40. Logan is her only child, and her only pregnancy. She went through the envitro procedure twice, it didn't work. She has has 3 pre-cancer surgeries and was told she would never conceive naturally. Logan was conceived naturally. She was told that due to the surgical scaring of her cervix, she probably would have to have Cesarean delivery, she did not. Her water broke and she was told that even with the drugs they gave her to hold off delivery, it was rare for anyone to go over 3-4 days before delivering. She was able to wait 8. She was given drugs to help with the development of the baby's lungs before he was born, and was told that the drugs needed at least 72 hours for it to take effect, if indeed it was going to help him in that early time in her pregnancy. The drug was given all the time needed and has surely helped him. He is outside of the oxygenized isolette for up to 2 hours at a time when she holds him once or twice a day..... breathing on his own, and at the present, showing little to no stress in doing so.
I apologize for this being so long. I just want to share the miracle of Logan. We are a deeply Christian family. We have not only been blessed by Logan, but reminded that He is indeed watching over us even when the hours are the darkest. And we are indebted to all who offer their prayers for this tiny little infant. Words of thanks will never be enough, ... but perhaps our prayers for them will.
Thank you all and God bless you all as well.
"And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me...". Matthew 18:5
