This war involves going after people who hide behind civilians and have no government.

They may not have recognized governments but they clearly have leaders, like Arafat. And yet this little toad is allowed to prance about and plan further attacks against Israel.

Do you really think that those Americans were the last ones to die in Israel? No way. Instead, there will be more attacks targeting Americans in Israel simply because there hasn't been a strong response to the deaths of the five.

Saudi's and Arafat paying families cash in exchange for their childrens' feeble attempt at martyrdom?

Damn straight! Until the US cuts the head off the snake (Saudi Arabia), this war will not be over.

First of all... Israel isn't being hamstrung by the Bush Administration... Israel, is in effect, been given a green light to do what has to be done... with cover being supplied by the US in the UN is just one aspect...

Second of all... Israel's hamstringing comes from Israel herself. You do realize that there is a huge gulf in the Knesset over what to do... and the power that Sharon Peres and Ben-Eliazar has counteracts most of what Sharon would do.

Third of all... what could American troops do that Israeli troops can't do?

Fourth of all... Israel still wants peace with the Palestinians. The Palestinian State was brought to the table at Oslo and agreed to by Rabin, Peres, Barak, and yes, even Sharon himself.

Fifth of all... Why has there been a drastic increase in terrorist attackes against Israel... because George Bush, stood up in the House and said... Saddam has got to go.

Sixth of all... You do understand the link between the Infitada and Saddam? You do understand that Benjamin Netanyahu has stated on several occasions that peace will come when Saddam is gone?

Seventh of all... For the first time since Madrid in 1992... Arafat has been cut-off. Yes, he's still in power, but Bush, on June 24th, signed his death slip.

Eighth of all... Have you heard of a little phrase called Pan-Arabism? That's the real enemy here. That's why Saddam attacked Israel during the Gulf War.

Ninth of all... For the first time ever, in public, leaders of Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia have called for Arafat's demise.

Tenth of all... Bush has said he is going after Saddam regardless of what Jordan and Saudi Arabia have counselled.

Eleveneth of all... Britian has joined with Bush in condemning Arafat...

Twelfth of all... even editorials in state run papers have begun to call for Arafat's ouster... in arabic too.

The list could continue... This is a huge ocean liner that is being turned against much resistance...

He bears HUGE responsibility. You bear none.

Wrong.

If we put him there, then WE bear as much of the responsibility for his inaction than he does.

While I don't agree with your total assesment of Bush, I must admit that I to would like to see these C**k s**kers wiped out just ASAP. But the problem is Alliances & Politics. I'm sure Bush would like to kick their @ss just as much as we would, but everybody doesn't feel that way in the rest of the world. I wouldn't care if they nuked Iraq & the Israeli's wiped out AraFart & his ilk. I do know that there is a storm coming on the horizon and the four horsemen are not far behind, we all need to be careful what we wish for, we may just get it.

Arafat must be removed, and yet the little rag-head remains.

Isn't "rag head" a little insenitive and uncaring to our Arab neighbors?

The offensive is not stalled. President Bush said from the outset that this conflict will take years to complete. The level of intensity will vary over periods of time, and the conflict has moved into a new phase.

Which makes one think: Why should it take so long? Taking so long risks the very real possibility that American will will wane as well as the possibility that a new president will drop the "war" altogether. You can't fight a war when you're not there to fight it.

Or is this some sort of gimmick to keep his poll numbers high for a while?

Yer whining fer all the wrong reasons, pardner. Relax, cool down, leave this war to the grown ups.

jwfiv, Thank you! A2J, as a Marine wife it always amazes me how quickly "armchair quaterbacks" are to deploy our service men and women. Hold on there boy. Think about what you are saying. BTW, when and what branch of service did you serve? Just wondering. War is an ugly thing. I'm not worried about how Bush will handel this. As a matter of fact, I think I know what's happening.

Truth is we should back Israel and back them hard...start by turning Arafats compound to glass!

Exactly!

Who cares what the world would think if we would join Israel in abolishing the PLO, the Hamas, and other terrorists groups? We'll be doing the world a favor.

Who cares? Apparently Bush.

Remember, Bush said this would be a different type of war and a long ongoing effort. The type of war you're referring to is the one where you know who the enemy is. This war involves going after people who hide behind civilians and have no government.

I certainly do remember, but it seems like some people and the media do not, or did not listen to the speech which is unfortunate

Fools rush in, my friends, and I hope our president is demonstrating he is no fool.

Me, too.

Since you are so darned hot for some positive action against terrorism, why don't YOU do something?

Hop on an airplane and get your butt over to Israel on the next available flight. You could patrol the streets and pounce on would-be homocide bombers.

I would feel so much safer knowing you were personally solving the problem with terrorism.

I don't need instant deployment. What I need is for Bush to unequivocally state that the people who slaughtered our civilians will be dealt with. By us. At a time of our choosing.

Loose lips sink ships.!!!!! Be careful what you say, I don't know you A2J. Why are you so interested in "Inside information?" HMMM?

Probably because the attacks of 9/11 engergized terrorists around the world. The same probably would have happened under Clintoon's watch as well.

Perhaps so, but is Bush going to continue to act like Clinton in his delaying tactics?

I didn't vote for another Clinton, or at least I didn't think I was, when I voted for Bush.
