Thousands of Americans die on September 11, 2001. President Bush responds with a military offensive that is presently stalled. Al Quieda remains and continues to grow.
Five Americans die in a suicide bomber attack in Israel. President Bush responds with an offensive of words expressing anger and that Arafat must be removed, and yet the little rag-head remains.
Is President Bush nothing more than a re-warmed version of Jimmy Carter? I hope not, but I really dont see much of a difference.
I've already acknowledged your right to criticize.
What I want to know is how you'd handle the situation, the office, the war, the problems of the world differently. Complaining about it gets none of us anywhere. Critcism is one thing. Constructive crtisism is another thing entirely. I have no idea how I would handle the job. The problems must seem insurmountable I would imagine and I imagine President Bush faces that daily. And I'm no Bushbot either. I disagree with some of his domestic decisions. But wars are not always won by winning every battle.
You seem to forget the President warned you and I, cautioned you and I, asked you and I for patience. Did he not say this was going to be a long war? Do you not realize that we will lose a few battles? As a man who has seen battle, I can asure you we will lose many more lives at home and abroad until victory is achieved. Why?
Are you forgetting the last administration stripped this country of it's fighting ability, it's intelligence capabilities and weakened this nation to dangerous levels? The last administration helped the terrorists and the rest of the world to know that we are weakened and vulnerable?
And you think that eight years of damage is going to repair itself in in just 18 months because we elected a new President? Do you think all the left leaning socialist blame America first Gore voters went away just because the President was elected? Surely you don't think that all the battles on the home front went away? That the attitudes and morals of this country magically righted themselves when he took office?
Do you not realize that President Bush is having to fight an international war with all of our countries diminished capabilities, and at the same time try to rebuild a nation, it's military and it's intelligence capabilities, and placate issues at home? You're living in another world my friend. He inherited a nightmare, a mess and he's scrambling to clean up the mess while trying to defend a nation.
If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. I suggest you look at the broader picture before criticizing. If you can tell us how all of the above can be solved, if you've got a better plan of action, I'm all ears. Otherwise it's just bellyaching.
I proudly served once, and I got on the phone 12 sept 2001 and volunteered again .told them I would serve anywhere...can you state the same I doubt it.
So your smart remarks will not stop me from stating my positon or my opinion...I have worked for the right!
But you didn't mention the postitioning of assets around the world, pawns, bishops and knights getting set up to strike when the time is nigh...a whole host of other items which I could draw to you attention.
No. The war is not stalled. Our campaign procedes with due and deliberate speed.
Perhaps you are correct... these things have to be well organized...
and then there's the theater of public opinion, and we all know what extremes folks sometimes go to in that regard. Pearl Harbor comes to mind.
In any event, we probably won't know anything until after the upcoming elections, unless Bush decides to "wag the dog."
The outcome could be very interesting.
Definitley agree.
I expect you're also right about not knowing anything until after the elections. Don't think Dubya would wag the dog, but do think he'd go ahead if info reached him of imminent peril, regardless of timing.
Lacking that immediate threat, I'm thinking after the elections...seems that's what he told the wimpy-Dems to placate them in their emasculated hysteria.
Don't think so. My money says he's alive and well. If he were dead, we would have heard about it, probably in a very exciting way.
Thanks. I don't mind constructive criticism. But if you're going to point out errors or mistakes, have a solution at hand.
I think I'm going to enjoy spying and snooping on people. It could be fun, and I get to turn in the ones I don't like. :)
You have to admit it's pretty damn dumb to go to Israel right now. Why not just stand in the middle of a highway at night with a blindfold on ?
Just for you the President should make sure that the war on terror is filled with jump cuts like Alias or The Agency so that you can get your denouement in an hour.
