Shutdown and Shakedown

Every so often, a true politician is born; someone with natural verbal finesse and a brilliant ability to manipulate minds with elaborate speech. These people effortlessly gain blind followers who remain loyal and trusting, even if they don't understand all the facts. With dedication and hard work, a person of this caliber is a sure success as a supposed leader. Although a person such as this is clearly a natural in politics, this description doesn't evaluate character, simply ability. Two names that come to mind are Senator Tom Daschle (D, South Dakota) and Jesse Jackson.

Senator Daschle has made his presence clear in the political world as the Senate Majority Leader. Although a man of loyalties to the Democratic Party, this doesn't guarantee any loyalty to you, a "regular" taxpaying American. Jesse Jackson has also made himself famous - like Daschle - preaching on behalf of the "working man" and minorities. The key word here is preaching. We are still awaiting any visible (and honest) results.

Daschle has taken on the "evil" Republicans bashing them on behalf of "protecting" social security, raising the standards of war, and protecting the environment. Daschle has used the leverage of the many Democrats to denounce tax cuts that "only benefit the rich". Daschle doesn't care to elaborate on how this only benefits the rich, but gains a substantial following with his smooth finesse of speech and soft-spoken voice, even if the motive is only intended to inspire fear without cause. The problem is, we "regular" Americans never get to ask the questions that matter like, "Does this tax cut honestly only benefit the rich, or will I - a middle class tax paying American - see a difference in my pay check?" We don't get to ask such questions like, "Even if the tax cut did benefit the rich, doesn't that mean more money to spend in communities, more money for employees, and increased job security and stability?" We, the American people that put him in power do not get to ask, "Doesn't taxing the rich eventually trickle down and result in higher prices and lower wages for us?" Just once, I'd like to hear a reporter ask - on our (the taxpayers) behalf, "Who benefits more from tax hikes, the taxpayers, non taxpayers, or politicians?" Although I'd love to hear the question asked, I give anything to get an honest response from Daschle.

Daschle expects - and often gets - partisan support for his ideologies with no factual basis. The fact is, Americans - including the rich - pay far too much in taxes as it is, any tax cut it healthy, at least for you - the taxpayer. The average American pays 38% of their wages to the federal government. Nearly 1 out of every 4 dollars earned in the U.S. go back to the government. For the rich, nearly 1 out of every 2 dollars earned is handed back to the federal government, and then passed on to those that have predominately rely on your handouts to pay for food, medical care, and bad habits. Daschle, on behalf of the American people, wants your money - regardless how you feel about it. Does this sound like someone working for the people? The fact is, his theory of tax hikes and obsession to stop the tax cuts force most Americans to suffer. Those who benefit are those of his Democratic Party that are in power - and of course those who don't pay any taxes in the first place - and looking for more. They benefit the Democratic Party by enforcing dependency on the government for things most Americans have to pay for, resulting in more votes.

Like Daschle, Jackson has used the leverage of minorities across the nation for his own benefit. As most already know, Jackson uses the shakedown technique by threatening boycotts on some of America's largest corporations like SBC, Coca Cola, and Texaco. Jackson finds those that aren't employing enough blacks or minorities and threatens to inform the minority community to not buy or use products from the company resulting in supposed enormous loss of revenue. In a similar strategy, Daschle finds those not paying enough in taxes and cries foul on behalf of those receiving handouts. When opposition doesn't comply, Daschle boycotts by blocking votes from the Senate floor and scaring the - often ignorant to facts - American public.

When Jackson gets the desired attention of the corporation, he suggests his already rich friends for future business to the corporation and coincidentally other friends receive board positions with the corporation and other high paying positions. The desired result is for the corporation to hire more black employees or give the current black employees a higher wage; often there is no difference after Jackson's "run in". Ultimately, the only ones that receive any substantial assistance are Jackson himself and his friends. Like Jackson, Daschle gets the attention he wants, resulting in compromise from Republicans or a public scare tactics ignoring the truth and facts. When Daschle does prevail, only he - not you - benefits. You receive higher taxes, further dependency on the government, less choice as an individual, and Daschle remains in office with more power that you granted him. In a clearer perspective, Jackson gets money from corporations making his operation stronger, and Daschle gets more decision over your life making his operation stronger.

Both Daschle and Jackson talk good game; both were obviously born politicians. Both speak on the supposed behalf of a large group of people, but ultimately both only provide assistance to themselves and those in their inner "party". While Daschle is probably losing sleep protecting Alaska from oil drilling, he's drilling into your pockets everyday with a smile. He claims to represent the workingman, while he robs the workingman of hard earned money. Jackson claims to be a full fledge representative and enforcer of the black and minority community, but the primary winners of his hard work are the estimated 100 associates buying his support, not the poor or the black community.

While striving for superiority and personal financial gain, Jackson and Daschle have more in common than most care to realize not excluding the fact that both are further left than NBC's "The West Wing". While Daschle's political stance is obvious, many aren't aware of Jackson's enormous and various forms of contributions to the Democrats, not forgetting his communist ties.

Both Daschle and Jackson have an apparent lack of intent to use facts, unless in a rare instance the facts benefit them and their crusade. Jackson has been caught in lies more times than I care to count, starting with his career shining moment of Martin Luther King, Jr. dying in his arms. Unfortunately most blind followers simply dismiss this fact. Daschle blatantly ignores the fact that Democrats cut military spending, and then criticize our Republican President because we can't seem to locate Osama bin Laden with minimal intelligence tools offered after an 8-year military recession during the Bill Clinton "Legacy Creation". Daschle also continues to lie to our American public about Republicans "stealing" from the Social Security Trust Fund. In case you didn't know, there isn't a Social Security Trust Fund. This is simply a scare tactic on behalf of the Democratic Party to gain votes from the elderly.

This is just the beginning my fellow Americans. Daschle and Jackson have an obvious disregard for you, unless you are one of them. By this I do not mean a member of the black community or a member of the Democratic Party. "One of them" merely consists of direct ties to either one; that is how you benefit. Both Jackson and Daschle will sacrifice your well being in order to progress their selfish agenda. The economy is in a rut; Daschle refuses a stimulus package and lies to the media about circumstances and reversing blame back to Republicans. Although blacks may be suffering in poor communities, Jackson believes it is more important his son drive 3 8 series BMW's. Although Jackson has supposedly been reforming public schools, his children are sent to the highest-class private schools in the country.

Both men are sending the message they are on your side, whomever you may be. But look closely, how do you benefit from tax hikes? How do you benefit from Jackson's Rainbow/PUSH organization clearing 15 million a year? How do you benefit, or those intended to benefit, when your donations to Jackson's charity are used to pay off mistresses?

How exactly do you benefit when Daschle uses your tax dollars as an elected representative to play political games and block votes from even reaching the Senate floor? Not only are you paying his salary, you are paying him to not do the job he was elected to do - which is carry out your will and be your voice. Instead, Daschle is attempting to make a good President look bad, even if that means sacrificing the American people and blocking votes from the Senate floor. Daschle has now pledged to block the tax cuts being made permanent from the Senate floor. In other words, Daschle has decided that the representatives you elected to make decisions will be unable to carry your will, even if it - and it will - directly affects you. We live in a Republic, which means a person is voted in to represent us, the people. In this case, Daschle is doing just the opposite and making sure your voice is not applicable. Maybe it's better this way, one person, not even elected President, is determining your life to benefit his political crusade and supply ammunition during an election year.

As with Daschle's impure intentions, Jackson has accomplished the exact opposite of what was intended, especially in equal opportunity. Jackson has patronized many minorities and hidden behind the wall of a charity. Like Daschle hides and avoids tough reporters and answering tough questions, Jackson hides behind charity organization and hides tax information supposed to be available to donators, and outwardly lies to the public.

This is not about you; it is about them. Regardless of position, both have and are playing dirty politics, on your behalf and with your money in more ways than one. Both disregard truth and disregard the people they claim to represent. Remember, one of these people can be voted out of power, the other is making his way very quickly to becoming entirely irrelevant. One operates on your tax dollars for a salary; the other relies on your donations and support to thrive. Both are wasting your money, and care about you as much as I care about Bill Gates' ability to make his mortgage payment next month. Do the research, find the facts, and ask the questions you don't hear the liberal elite media asking. Then, and only then, you will see the truth.

No mater how you try to dress these two as*ho*** up they are still lying, whining little crybabies who belong at the bottom of the slime barrel.

They both should be in prison for cheating the American public to inflate their own egos.

My contempt for both of these perverts is beyound words I know to explain it with.

They must be so filled with their own egos that they care nothing about this great country.

I hope it is true, "That the higher you go, the steeper the fall".

I'll see you two on your way down, and maybe give you a little shove.

GOD BLESS AMERICA.
