Nuland Resigned Because Blinken Did Not Make Her No. 2 at State, Veteran US Diplomat Says

Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland, a driving force in keeping Ukraine at war with Russia, announced her resignation because she was passed over for further promotion in favor of Kurt Campbell, ex-US diplomat and former State Department consultant on US-Russia relations James Carden told Sputnik. Nuland, who had served under Deputy Secretary of State Strobe Talbott in President Bill Clinton's administration in the 1990s, was a favorite of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and ran European and Eurasian affairs as assistant secretary of state under Hillary Clinton's successor, John Kerry. She then served as acting deputy secretary of state for seven months under Secretary of State Antony Blinken and was considered a leading candidate to take over the post, but the position then went to the highly experienced Campbell instead. Campbell was confirmed by the Senate on February 6.

Did Nuland abruptly resign because her 210 days of non Senate confirmed “acting” status had come to an end and to stay she would have had to go through the confirmation process? If this is the case, should we expect her reappearance in another role? Once DJT becomes president he should utilize “acting” appointments to bypass the Uniparty (R) sabotage via the confirmation process we saw in his first term. The best appointment of his first term was “Acting” Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell. Perhaps someone more familiar with the Vacancies Act than I am can tell me if I’m reading this correctly. Also, how long could DJT employ “acting” appointments at Attorney General? Can he appoint more than one acting AG consecutively as one 210 day term expires?

From the Federal Vacancies Act “When a vacancy occurs, the position can be filled by an acting officer for 210 days from the date of the vacancy, in addition to the time when a nomination is pending before the Senate.”

The fellow who got the position is a skilled “China hand,” not a warmongering Russophobic descendant of bitter Trotskyites.

The thing is, she was an “acting” appointment with no Senate confirmation. She HAD to resign after 210 days or go before the Senate and be held accountable. I’m of the opinion that we’ve been sold a bill of goods and she will be back, rather, she hasn’t gone anywhere.

Nope, I don’t think so. Her 210 days were up and she had to resign. I’m of the opinion that she’ll continue to call the shots from another position or she’ll cuddle up with Barry behind the wizard’s curtain.

Nuland was also involved in crafting the State Dept. B.S. talking points, along with Susan Rice, after the Benghazi disaster in 2012.

She did a lot of damage in those 210 days. I do not know who blew up the Nord Stream pipeline, but I know of only two public officials who said they would. One of them is Nuland and the other’s name is Biden.

A rat abandoning a sinking ship. Her Ukraine project is in ruins. This is a clear sign that Russia has won and the proxy war is coming to a close.

A Deep State globalist war-monger exits in disgrace and good riddance.

No she’s been in place forever. She will not be calling any shots in a second Trump term.

That’s for damned sure. I think she’ll still be running the Uke fiasco from another position until Trump is inaugurated though.

And Nikki Haley resigned as UN Ambassador after President Trump replaced Rex Tillerson with Mike Pompeo who reminded her that she worked for the Secretary State not directly for the President.
