Well then why on earth would Russia want to go after tiny slivers of land? Everyone is equating this to Germany taking over whole countries when Russia is not doing that? I don’t see the Crimeans rising up over joining Russia or is vast majority being suppressed and no word is getting out to the world?

Crimea is the only one of the territories that Russia has occupied that has a Russian majority. The others have Ukrainian majorities, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson by substantial amounts.
