Large numbers of Americans want a strong, rough, anti-democratic leader

It might be comforting to think that American democracy has made it past the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection. But our research shows that a wide range of the American people, of all political stripes, seek leaders who are fundamentally anti-democratic.

It’s true that many who participated in the insurrection are facing consequences, including prison time. Many candidates for state office who falsely claimed that Donald Trump won the 2020 presidential election lost their races. And the congressional committee investigating the insurrection voted to refer Trump to the Department of Justice for criminal charges.

But more than 100 members of Congress who objected to the results of a free and fair election won their reelection campaigns. And at least seven people who attended the “Stop the Steal” rally on Jan. 6 have been elected to state legislatures and two have been elected to Congress.

He left Chilean Civil Society intact. The Church, unions, social organizations, business, universities, sports organizations, boy scouts, etc. etc... were left to run independently free of government influence.

Yeah, apart from the thousands of Chileans tortured for disagreeing with their government. You must have a different definition "free of government influence" than I do.

We don't need a Pinochet figure. We just need to go back to a Constitutional form of limited government.

Yeah, apart from the thousands of Chileans tortured for disagreeing with their government.

See, I'm okay with that, so long as we are on top.

Oddly enough he mostly left the judiciary alone as well.

The Socialists in Chile were very disruptive.

And so was Pinochet. His military junta disappeared thousands of people, and tortured thousands.

A Pinochet cannot happen in the US, regardless if some posters on this thread ignorantly wishing for a tyrant.

Not only can it happen, it should happen, and the disappeared people should number in the millions, and the tortured, in the tens of millions.

All leftists, of course..... but leftists are not human beings at all. They are cockroaches. What do you do with cockroaches?

I'm not, because there's no guarantee we would remain on top. First rule of politics: everything you do to the opposition will be done to you when the opposition comes to power. Second rule of politics: no party or ideology remains in power forever. Maybe the older Freepers wouldn't be around to pay the price when the counterrevolution happens but as a 30-something I will. I'm not paying the price for yet another Boomer fantasy.

Re: 25 - we’ll just disagree. But that’s not a bad thing.

You'll be paying the price already, because the left has got you in their sights They are making America into the former Soviet Union.

Like Heath Ledger's joker said, "I'm not a monster, I'm just ahead of the curve."

Yeah, apart from the thousands of Chileans tortured for disagreeing with their government.

first of all, we are not talking about the United States

Secondly, Chile had already undergone a Marxist coup, with assistance by Cuba and the Soviet Union. Pinochet was reacting to that.

Really? I must have missed the part where the left is torturing conservatives and dropping them out of helicopters. If this were anything like the Soviet Union, FR wouldn't exist. I've been lurking here since 2010 and every election cycle I've heard that America will become a dictatorship if the Rats win. After awhile it starts to sound like a doomsday cultist promising that this time the world will really end.

The economy of Chile is a market economy and high-income economy as ranked by the World Bank. The country is considered one of South America's most prosperous nations, leading the region in competitiveness, income per capita, globalization, economic freedom, and low perception of corruption.

A revolution of globalists has taken place.

It cannot be denied that this revolution seeks to destroy the country by an illegal incursion of people who are not legitimate residents or citizens, who will vote for the revolutionary government and keep it in power.

On balance of probability, it appears that the 2020 election was stolen and anyone who raises an objection is being ostracized by liars who know they are lying to protect the illegal government.

Is the Pinochet solution the only way back to sanity?

No, a less violent way exists. Even now we could see a return to the status quo if votes were counted without distortion or cheating. A majority probably want to end this globalist experiment. It must be understood, a fair election must be followed by judicial reprisals against traitors. If not, it’s a guarantee of a return to a similar mess after some future election.

But if it proves impossible to hold a fair election, a quorum of states should meet after January 2025 and declare a “restart” of constitutional America, replace the current revolutionary regime (assuming it steals the 2024 election), and refuse to seat or otherwise interact with the agents of that revolution. To make that work, it would require at least partial support of the U.S. military and police forces, national guard etc. It is basically a counter-revolution. It’s a revolution against a revolutionary government.

I think that alternative will become the only plausible way out. One man like Pinochet would not be able to “take over” the U.S. government in D.C., it would require a large-scale country-wide movement based in the heartland and involving millions of people. Leadership could come from one man or a group of several or even dozens, as with the original U.S. revolution that created the republic.

I have absolutely no doubt that the current regime is illegitimate, criminal in nature, and blatantly loyal to an overseas group of anti-American (anti-freedom) elitists who seek to take over all countries they possibly can and subject them to an enforced agenda of their own design, for their own purposes. They claim it is to save the world, but of course it is really to establish themselves as a new aristocracy, with us playing the role of serfs.

That by its very nature is treason. The details of how it is being carried out form a legal basis for a charge of treason to be brought. The border is clearly not being defended against invasion. There are possibly 20 to 30 million people living in the country right now who should not be here and who entered full well knowing they broke U.S. laws to get into America. If that is not an invasion, what is? That is the first order of business for what I would call the Patriotic Coalition of States, which should be organizing now, assuming in advance a bad outcome to the 2024 elections. Waiting around to see what happens is just wasting a year of resistance and organizing to recover the legitimate, constitutional government of the country.

It could take several election cycles to get things back under control of the people through proper representative government. The number of loyal (patriotic) states could begin at around 30 and slowly grow back to 50. Some states could come back into the union in stages with reduced representation at first based on the current constitution.

Conditions in the globalist-occupied portions of the country will no doubt spiral rapidly into chaos and anarchy because the Davos agenda does not work, it is crazy bizarro-world social engineering and economics, designed by idiots, and eventually it will collapse. But there is no need for all of America to go down in that collapse, just the parts that are too wooden-headed to get what Biden, Obama and the rest of the U.S. servants of globalism have as their end objective — anarchy and chaos, destruction of civil liberties, freedom and prosperity, with a small protected elite living in debauchery in secure locations among the vast and widespread ruins. The process is already underway. They are not waiting to unleash something in the future, if they ever were, they unleashed it in 2020 and 2021. It went down already. We are not waiting for them to act; they acted. And they won a revolution. Our job is to remove them from power so it does not become permanent. It needs to be an international movement but concern yourselves mainly with American recovery and restoration of your freedom. Others will be working to do the same in other countries. This has happened to a number of countries in a co-ordinated international series of revolutions. It’s not just in America.

Why do they want this? It is clearly some sort of death wish and probably demonic possession. But we should not concern ourselves with why they are traitors, just that they are traitors. Eventually, they will die off anyway in the ever-shrinking enclaves where stupid people may keep on voting against the renewed constitutional republic. And those stupid people will bring upon themselves exactly the reward they deserve, but at least let’s get an accurate count of votes so we don’t need to go down with them.

It’s like comparing apples to oranges. Chile had a very different constitution than the US has. The country was also founded in a different way.

Despite the fantasy some have, there will be no Pinochet style overthrow in the US.
