Colorado Announces Republicans Will Get No Say In Picking Their Candidate
Front Page Magazine ^ | December 21, 2023 | Daniel Greenfield

Colorado has decided that the only people who should be allowed to pick the Republican Party’s presidential nominee are Democrat legislators and judges.

And so the initial totalitarian overreach descends into grim farce.

Colorado GOP Chairman Dave Williams told The Colorado Sun on Tuesday night that if Trump isn’t on the ballot, the party would ask the state to cancel the Republican presidential primary. Instead, Republican voters would caucus to select delegates to the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee next year.

But Colorado’s Democrat regime refuses to cancel the primary and let GOP voters caucus.

Williams told The Sun that if Trump isn’t on the ballot and the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office won’t cancel the Republican presidential primary, “we will ignore the primary” results.

Nope, that can’t be allowed to happen either.

The Colorado Secretary of State’s Office said the Colorado GOP couldn’t withdraw from the presidential primary and that it has doubts about whether the party can ignore the primary results.

It is the Republican primary, isn’t it? Except the current position of Colorado’s Dem rulers and the media is that Republicans can’t have anything to do with the Republican primary.

The Colorado Secretary of State is Jena Griswold: a leftist Dem funded by out-of-state donors who fundraised off Trump being a threat to democracy.

Jena Griswold she sent out a fundraising letter, falsely accusing President Trump of an “assault on democracy”

The actual threat to democracy, in an unsurprising twist, turned out to be the leftist.

Well, wasn’t that the plan all along? Democrats rule and dictate to everyone else what to do, right?

The Democrat Socialist Party.

It’s funny that the Dems spent all that effort trying to help Trump get nominated and now they are trying to prevent Trump from being nominated.

It’s funny that the Dems would want the 6/5 betting favorite that has already beaten them previously.

The parties run choose how to pick their candidates NOT THE STATE. The state becomes involved for the actual elections.

Case law and Supreme Court precedent is clear, I believe.

The primaries belong to each individual party, and the state is only the administrator. A party is free to do whatever it wants as a primary or caucus procedure, as long as it is willing to be the direct administrator of the process.

Stupid article.

Every single Colorado Republican voter would have a say.

They would just need to show up to their caucus with a valid photo id in hand - and vote.

Simple - and the way it was run until very recently.

“Case law and Supreme Court precedent is clear, I believe.”

************

Not when Democrats are in power. What’s stopping them from ignoring the Supreme Court? Biden ignored the Court’s decision re student loans and virtually nothing happened.
