A Miami Lakes woman has been arrested on charges connected to the the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Barbara Balmaseda, 23, is charged with a felony offense....

The evidence she was carrying a taser to “peacefully protest” inside the Capitol likely attracted the attention of authorities and will not sit well with a DC jury. The fact she had a taser, and one of her companions had a gas mask at the protests, will be interpreted by the jury the defendant came to the Capitol expecting violence and prepared to engage in violence.
Indeed. In the future, any group that wants to protest the government should understand that holding signs is not the way to go.
This will increase as the election gets closer.
