Getting rid of rifles with detachable magazines is just a first step. Once accomplished the lefties will realize that a rifle with the built in magazine, such as the SKS, can be reloaded quite fast with a stripper clip.

Just get an M1 Garand or M14. They’re battlefield rifles, not “assault rifles.”

Exactly. Most assault weapon bans pick up the M1A, civilian version of the M14. But they usually skip the the M1 Garand, a practical rate of fire of 45-50 rounds per minute. And ironically skip the M1 carbine, the most manufactured battle rifle of WWII.
