On Thursday’s broadcast of “CNN This Morning,” Sen. Angus King (I-ME) said that gun control legislation he introduced is a new approach to “assault weapons” because it says “that a gun that operated as these weapons do, as any rifle does, cannot have a detachable magazine, and must have an internal magazine with no more than 10 bullets.” And “To me, this is purely consistent with banning machine guns 100 years ago or sawed-off shotguns. These are particularly dangerous, useful only for killing people, and we want to diminish that lethality.”

My hand guns with detachable magazines are intended for exactly that purpose, and to be used only when an intruder might dare cross our threshold.
The anti-gun types favor intruders over law-abiding citizens. No wonder the media ratings continue to drop.
Poor Angus the Angry doesn’t know much about firearms does he? If some home invaders come into your house and threaten you and your family, you don’t have to kill them with a rifle with a detachable magazine to have them haul ass. Just point it at them. You need to get a book about guns and study up on your booschidt before you start spreading it, sonny.

I agree. Which is why all police and military need to comply to the same standard. So does Angus' personal security detail.
Unless, of course, that's not what Angus really means...
Someone should introduce Angus to the WWI bolt action assault rifle.
Anti-gunners need to up their rhetorical game. They are still using decades-old tropes and no-one is buying their BS anymore.
If they could come up with a compelling argument, that would be something to behold! Instead they continually beclown themselves.

Just get an M1 Garand or M14. They’re battlefield rifles, not “assault rifles.”
And of course Congress could fix this tomorrow. One simple Federal Law would end all of this crap.
There shall be no Laws granting any person or persons an exclusion, exception, privilege, preference or Immunity of any kind for any reason.
Umm, and what does one use a rifle without a detachable stock for? Mixing pancake batter?
Still living in the past are we, Mr. Progressive? It seems to me that civilization would have matured some in one hundred years but we're still killing, raping, assaulting, stealing and everything else. And while that's going on, were "defunding" and getting rid of the police. Wake up and smell the Starbucks Angus.
