Sen. Angus King (I-ME) is working on “assault rifle” gun control this week after a suspect with a sniper rifle shot and killed 18 people in Lewiston, Maine.
The Portland Press Herald noted that King is not ready to reveal details about his gun control bill,
The Herald indicated King’s intention is to “ban the most dangerous and lethal aspects of military-style assault rifles.” King provided a clue into what these “aspects” of certain firearms might be when he spoke to KTLA and said, “I want to do what’ll work and to me, the most clear danger are these high capacity magazines.”

“military-style assault rifles” is one of the most meaningless phrases I can think of. They use the term ‘military-style’ because they know they are not real military weapons. As for ‘assault rifle’, there is not such definition. They could just as easily say ‘cool-looking 223s’ and be more accurate.

Actually, there is a definition for "assault rifle," and it's a firearm with select-fire capability (full vs. semi-auto). Legally it is a machine gun.
"Assault WEAPON" on the other hand is a meaningless term.
too late Angus....more and more stories coming out that the idiots family and friends were begging and warning he was gonna do a mass shooting. Not gonna disarm us because you people cant do your jobs. If anything, all the more reason to be armed, because the cops sure aint gonna help you...
