CNN — The price of the lifesaving Covid-19 antiviral medication Paxlovid will more than double as the United States transitions out of the emergency phase of the pandemic, drugmaker Pfizer said Wednesday.

The list price, before insurance, will be $1,390 for a five-day course, Pfizer said in a statement. That’s 2.6 times higher than the $530-per-course price paid by the US government, which provided Paxlovid free to patients during the pandemic. The Wall Street Journal first reported the new price.

the lifesaving Covid-19 antiviral medication Paxlovid

Allegedly is the word that's missing here, because there is NO EVIDENCE to support that claim.

My ivermectin is cheaper and probably much more effective. Shows this was big pharma’s disease all along.

Just a business decision, like the ones that deployed this experimental “jab” on the world, pushed mandates, pushed boosters & hid reports of detrimental side effects & deaths not to mention the complete lack of efficacy against COVID-19.
Just a business decision by the Globalist elites & uni-party players.

I’d suggest maybe looking for cheaper alternatives.

Only seniors with stock in Pfizer are stil blindly following the mandate narrative. The lines for flu/ booster shots are the daily gathering spot to socialize in senior homes

My minor suffering with what amounted to the equivalent of the flu was effective. That was free. To date, I know of only two instances when I have received an antibiotic in my life and that was when I was a child. I’ve never had an antiviral. It’s amazing what the human immune system can do all by itself.

I disagree. There's some evidence of effectiveness.
"The pill was just 37% effective at preventing hospitalization or death in high-risk patients when compared to no Covid treatment at all, according to an observational study published Thursday in JAMA Network Open. In earlier studies, it cut the risk of hospitalization or death by as much as 89%."

As I like to say, one of the big lessons of Covid for anyone with a clue should have been the extent to which Big Pharma owns and controls big medicine (hospital chains), the mainstream media (look at all those Pharma ads), governmental medical regulatory agencies (CDC, FDA, et al), and many legislators.

I took it in June of last year and four weeks ago, knocked that Fauxi Wuhan Flu right out of me. Since the vaccs did NOTHING I was grateful for it and although it is horrible to take, it worked.

Paxlovid kills viruses, bacteria and mitochondria.
Also a strong CYP3A4 inhibitor which means it prevents excretion.
If my body is trying to get rid of something. Why would I want to prevent it?
I like to keep my mitochondria and dump my waste.
thanks.

I was trying to understand why they would want to use a CYP3A4 inhibitor the link also state it reduces glutamine residues.
This is the byproduct of the lips they used in the injections.

Vitiman B6 (Pyridoxine) brakes down glutamate and other lipids. Glutamine is a from from Glutamate.

I didn’t take paxlovid or any other medication except
for my vitamins and my symptoms went away after about
3 days, same for many others I know who got the omicron
variant. The one lingering effect was a mild dry cough,
did experience some mild congestion which affected my
taste buds for about 2-3 days. If you have a sore throat,
take motrin with food, that will bring down the inflammation.

How exactly do they prove that Plaxovid is “effective” in preventing hospitalization? What if instead of giving them Plaxovid, you had them all wear a copper bracelet, and 37% of them didn’t end up hospitalized. Does that prove that the copper bracelets were “effective” in preventing hospitalization?

No, it proves that people are idiots.

Lifesaving? Those who die with COVID now would have died anyway before too long. It’s morphed into a bad cold.

Until the next, new strain is released, that is.
