The Foreign Affairs Ministry of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) issued a statement Sunday directly condemning the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas for a bloody terror spree that has left over 700 dead since early Saturday, urging the region to avoid following the group toward “nihilistic destruction.”
The UAE is one of the world’s wealthiest and most influential explicitly Islamic governments. Abu Dhabi’s condemnation of Hamas and extension of condolences to the majority-Jewish victims of the Hamas rapes, abductions, and massacres on Saturday is a dramatic contrast in tone from neighboring Iran – where the regime threw a street party to celebrate the killings, complete with a fireworks display – and the eruption of pro-Hamas rallies and celebrations around the world, including in the United States.

Hats off to the good guys in the UAE.
How long before UAE gets attacked?
The Middle East is complicated. Saudi Arabia and Iran are competing for influence amongst the Muslims: economically, politically, and often militarily (as seen previously with the Yemeni Civil War).
Despite historical antipathy for the Jews, the feud between Saudi Arabia and Iran has two separate dimensions: not only Sunni Islam vs Shia Islam from a religious standpoint, but also the longstanding historical tension between the Arabs and the Persians.
My bet is that Iran is trying to bait Israel into acting with such overwhelming force that their fledgling political ties with other Arab nations (like Saudi Arabia and the UAE) will go down the drain.
It is. Good for them.
UAE used to be anti-Israel for many years.
Surprising!
“This is heartening news! Anybody recall a time an Arab government sided with Israel any other time an Arab country/organization acted badly toward Israel? “
ABSOLUTELY - I just may have to go to Dubaiiiiiiii, as Rush calls it.
Good news. Bump to the top..

KIDNAPPING defenceless toddlers and old ladies, slaughtering families in their homes and kids at a music festival or raining thousands of rockets on civilians is not self-defence, as Hamas and their supporters claim.
This is brutal terrorism, plain and simple.

My exact thoughts. They’re trying to torpedo further Abraham Accords negotiations, and were triggered by Biden’s Iran Diplomatic Group (Rob Malley’s team) being outed as full of Iranian spies. They know the US money is going to dry up and there will be hell to pay in Washington, so their only other option was to sponsor suicide and slaughter raids into Israel so that the Israelis would respond full force and lose general Arab support, since the Arab Street reflexively supports the Palestinians when there’s a huge flare up.
The UAE seems to be the only Arab government that hasn’t taken the bait.
The grown-ups in the UAE have understood for decades that the oil won’t last forever. So they began diversifying, investing in becoming a hub for holiday travel, glamor shopping and international travel. Being seen as siding with the radical mooselimbs would work at odds with those goals.
