For over a year, I have been writing and commenting on California’s unconstitutional Covid gag law for physicians and other medical professionals. The law allowing the revocation of licenses for “false or misleading information” on Covid-19 was a frontal attack on free speech. Nevertheless, many lawyers supported the law and Gov. Gavin Newsom signed it. Now Newsom has quietly signed the repeal of the law after it was headed for an almost certain rejection by the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. All of the supporters of the law seem to be shrugging and moving on after the waste of money and time on a facially unconstitutional law.
The bill authorized the state’s medical board to revoke the licenses of any medical professional if they “disseminate misinformation or disinformation related to COVID-19, including false or misleading information regarding the nature and risks of the virus, its prevention and treatment; and the development, safety, and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccine.”
Judge Fred Slaughter (C.D. Cal.) in McDonald v. Lawson held that this statute was likely constitutional and rejected a motion for a preliminary injunction. I disagreed with Slaughter. Then, Judge William Shubb (E.D. Cal.) reached the opposite conclusion in Hoeg v. Newsom, granting an injunction.
The reception by the Ninth Circuit was chilly for the state.
Newsom’s office did not respond to inquiries.
The law was enacted despite the fact that many doctors who questioned aspects of Covid treatment (and were attacked for their views) have been largely vindicated. Among the suspended from social media were the doctors who co-authored the Great Barrington Declaration, which advocated for a more focused Covid response that targeted the most vulnerable population rather than widespread lockdowns and mandates. Many are now questioning the efficacy and cost of the massive lockdowns as well as the real value of masks or the rejection of natural immunities as an alternative to vaccination. Yet, these experts and others were attacked for such views just a year ago. Some found themselves censored on social media for challenging claims of Dr. Fauci and others.
As the prior “consensus” over the efficacy of masks or other Covid measures was being placed in greater doubt, California moved to make future dissenters even less likely by threatening their licenses. While the law only limits comments to patients, it sends a chilling message to physicians to toe the line on Covid statements.
Newsom was heralded for his signing of the law that he just repealed.
The bill was part of a push by Democrats to censor or ban opposing views on subjects ranging from Covid to climate change to elections.
The legislators slipped the repeal into a new bill and none of the sponsors who supported the original bill could be found for comment. The greatest disgrace, however, falls on the California Medical Association which supported the original bill over objections from doctors and legal analysts like myself. The CMA leadership was also silent over its effort to gag or censor doctors with opposing views in violation of the First Amendment.
Interesting, all the back peddling going on.
I had my annual VA physical the other day, and when asked if I wanted the flu shot I said “No, and I do not want a covid shot either”. The nurse reply was that they no longer had the capacity to give covid shots. When I called the covid shot the “clot shot” she smiled.
Move along.
The doctors who were silenced should move ahead anyway.
This is a great example of government-instituted terrorism and how they get away with it. After they commit the terrorism, they then pretend it didn’t happen. It’s the same nationally with the Great COVID Scam. Legislators must pass laws that hold government officials personally accountable for their terroristic acts on the public. I don’t see a thing that has happened to Fauci or the other psychopaths but name-calling.
I volunteered at my local VA for 12 years.
Then the BS mandate came along and I was told I either get the xaxx or I couldn’t volunteer.
I’m not getting it - EVER! And I don’t trust getting the flu shot because I don’t trust them to give me the weakened virus rather than the mRNA version.

But what is scary is that the state and federal governments were super-quick to cancel licenses, board certifications, and institutional privileges of physicians who merely opined about the poor safety record of the vaccine, something I thought was protected by the first amendment.
This effectively makes it impossible for them to work, forever. At best, a benching of 3-5 years.
If they can do it to physicians, they can do it to contractors, nail filers, morticians, plumbers, electricians, beauticians and barbers, etc., etc., ANYONE with a license to ply their respective trades.
Look at the website of your state's professional licensing board. EVERYONE needs a license to earn a living.
The whole sordid episode as a 'mark of the beast' smell to it.
Is this a tactic to have the lawsuit dropped? I’m not a lawyer, but I could see words like “moot” or “no standing” or whatever getting thrown about, and then this lawsuit just disappears. That way, the state can just bring it back whenever they want, knowing it will take years to wind through court again. Hopefully I’m wrong.
This law was infuriating.
My sister-in-law was finally diagnosed with cerebral atrophy - she had an immediate bad reaction after the 3rd dose, two years ago. This was someone who was previously very healthy.
My brother took her from doctor to doctor to doctor all over So Cal - each of whom told him firmly that the neurological problems his wife was experiencing was NOT from the vax.
I suspect each one of those doctors was seeing similar types of vax injuries - but to keep their licenses, they had to say the injuries were not caused by the vax.
So sad.
I hope she is able to get proper treatment. How is she doing, now?
I read an article, the other day, saying that these $hots cause microclots....that can only be seen with specialized imaging equipment.
There are docs studying this...and, making recommendations, for those who’ve had the $hots.

Everything I’ve read says there is no treatment - only care such as physical and speech therapy. Fortunately, my brother is able to afford in-home care so that is the next step.
My SIL herself says she is deteriorating. They haven’t invited anyone to the house so I’m not sure how she’s doing, I suspect we won’t see them over the holidays as well, unfortunately.
We believe the doctors were afraid to say anything - California had some of the strictest laws concerning what doctors could/couldn’t say about the vax.
I’m still kicking myself all over the place for taking the shots - I found a formula online, recommended by a holistic doctor, that neutralizes the spike protein.
I started taking it two months ago - and noticed the skin peeling on my hands and around my nails has stopped - I didn’t link that with the shot, although I’d never had this problem before, it’s very painful. One of my friends, after the shot, lost all the skin on her hands and arms - she was wrapped up like a mummy! Said it was unbelievably painful - her doctors also told her it had “nothing to do with the shot” - although she knew it did.
I will forgo family events if it means I have to take another jab (why I got the shot in the first place).

Overall, the vaxx mandaters weren’t the great thinkers and humanitarians they considered themselves to be.
They wrongly ascribed magical powers to the shots, which failed, as had been unequivocally promised, to stop infection and spread or to prevent serious illness.
To say nothing of widespread vaxx injuries and deaths.
Go away, fulminating mandaters: your credibility is gone.

Use disobedience to claw back whatever personal agency and responsibility, you can in your own life, train yourself not to take these people seriously, encourage others to do the same!
If enough people do this, eventually it will become so prohibitively expensive to manage the population that the strangling vines of this parasitic organism we call the managerial state can be hacked back to something manageable.

Florida Surgeon General, Dr. Joseph Ladapo, called for a “halt to the use of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines” in a press release and X thread.
In a statement posted on X, Ladapo wrote, “The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have always played it fast and loose with COVID-19 safety, but their failure to test for DNA integration with the human genome – as their own guidelines dictate – when the vaccines are known to be contaminated with foreign DNA is intolerable.
