RFK Jr. set to speak at CPAC event

Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. will be a headline speaker at a Conservative Political Action Conference event in Las Vegas later this month, the conference announced Friday.

The anti-establishment environmental lawyer has run a longshot primary campaign against President Biden, but is expected to change affiliation to independent next week.

“Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has a unique voice in advocating for the defunding of the weaponized bureaucracy and ensuring the constitutional right of medical freedom,” CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp said in a statement. “Kennedy joining such an important event is a reflection of the splintering of the left-wing coalition that has gone full woke Marxist to the point that traditional liberals don’t feel welcome anymore.”

Why is he speaking? He’s not a conservative and he’s already going to take some of our folks to his side.

However this plays out with the public, I think that RFK JR’s appearance at CPAC illustrates just how far left the democrats have moved, at least in my lifetime.
The Kennedys of Massachusetts have ALWAYS been at the forefront of left wing politics. It was Senator Ted Kennedy that gave us the enormously damaging immigration policies that America is suffering with today, and he did it out of spite and retaliation. The old Blue Bloods of Boston were mean to his father in college because he was Irish Catholic, so Ted decided to get his revenge through new immigration quotas and removing the requirement that new arrivals must have a ‘sponsor’, an American citizen who could vouch for that immigrant’s behavior and pledge to repay the US government if the new arrival ever went on welfare. Those were the days…
Now even a Kennedy finds that the democrats are too far left. WOW !
Trump 2024

Perhaps he could reconcile some of his contradictory statements. I, too, am interested in what he has to say. Nothing more conservative than a liberal that’s been mugged by reality.

He’s already said he thinks he’ll peel off more Trump voters than Biden voters. Why would CPAC want to facilitate that?

JFK Jr at CPAC? What’s wrong with that picture? Why not invite the rest of the Dem candidates while we’re at it? Where’s Newsom?

It’s likely Ukraine, weaponization and the anti vaxxers. Many of his other policies would run them off but they don’t know enough about him.

He’s running as a spoiler to help Biden and pull populist support from Trump.

Well as we discovered this week after McCarthy was removed, a hole lot of Conservative Inc is not really on our side.

He's a Kennedy. The Kennedys are not even remotely conservative, and will not give the answers you want to hear. If he splits the D vote then I'm fine with him, but he is not the answer to the glaringly obvious problems in this country.

” if he is reaching out to the conservatives, he will take votes away from Trump.”

Yep, that appears to be the plan, and CPAC is facilitating it. Yuck.

CPAC allowing a leftist troll to speak, why not have Newsom too.

Hmm. not a good sign.

I would want rfk to run as an independent to draw off democrat voters.

by going to cpac—rfk immediately alienates himself from most democrat voters —plus he pulls in some republicans.

not a good look.

To think he’ll take votes from Trump, in my opinion is wrong. There are many more RATS who want an alternative to Biden. If RFK runs he’ll hurt Biden. Trump’s base is very strong and will stick with him.
