Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (Ill.), the No. 2-ranking Senate Democrat, called on embattled Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) to resign Wednesday.

Durbin had declined to call for Menedez to step down during a television interview Sunday but he changed course Wednesday after 22 Senate Democrats called for Menendez to leave office.

“Leaders in New Jersey, including the Governor and my Senate colleague Cory Booker, have made it clear that Sen. Menendez can no longer serve. He should step down,” Durbin wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

And the beat goes on... Ten bucks says Menendez has the goods on all these *((&*^%$.

I am rooting for Bob. Tell them to pounds sand. Give them all up while you are at it.

If there was one chance in a million that Boob Griftnendez could be replaced by a Republican, all the brave Democrats would be as mute as the Smirking Chimp was all through Obama’s eight-year misrule.

they only call for resignations to improve Democrat prospects.

Justice Breyer must resign so Biden can appoint a liberal justice

Menendez must resign to ease the Democrats victory for his seat in 2024

the reason to now go after Menendez is for the party leaders to replace him with their choice rather than the voters to oust him and allow the people to choose his replacement.

That Senate seat is safe Dem.

This is all theatre to appear “anti-corruption” with elections coming.

Resign? OK. But first things first.

Why is Bob Menendez still Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee?

New Jersey has off-year elections for state office. I suspect a lot of the political posturing among NJ Democrats is based on their credible fear that they could lose control of the state senate in November.

.
If Menendez would’ve taken 50x more, he’d be Joe Biden.

Joey Two Scoops makes him look like an amateur.

Don’t resign! Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If found guilty, let the voters decide.

Yep. They are afraid that Bob will face a Republican at the next election. The RATs don’t care how much he stole. They all stole more and are just better at hiding it

That’s what I was thinking. He ought to go to the House and get immunity and spill the beans on all of them

It isn’t exactly a big revelation that he’s a crook. Yet they all stood behind him the last time he was indicted.

His Chairmanship got yanked from him in the last couple of days.

He needs to fight the good fight—to keep the Swamp corrupt!

The Supreme Court has defined quid pro quo into virtual obscurity.

It would be hard for a prosecutor to prove you paid a kid to mow the lawn for you unless you paid him within fifteen seconds of his completing the job—and it was caught on video and audio that you both agreed that was why you paid him and that was why he did the job.
