Ukraine has released images purporting to show a car packed with explosives parked on the Kakhovka Dam before it was bombed, unleashing the river on settlements below, leading to serious flooding.
The Kakhovka Dam was bombed earlier this month, causing the Soviet-era structure holding back the Dnipro/Dnieper, one of Europe’s major rivers to flood downstream. Given the colossal volume of water released fatalities have been mercifully comparatively limited, with the Ukrainian government speaking of 17 killed as a consequence of the attack, and a further 31 missing.

Exactly my response. Whatever. These are the same people who keep telling us that Ukrainian soldiers are slaughtering Russians by the tens of thousands for the past year.
Did the car take an elevator down to get into position where it could actually blow up the damn by detonating? If so, how did it push the buttons?

This is government run and intended to influence public perceptions, and thereby behaviors. It is actually the “textbook” of what real propaganda is.
That said, it builds CREDIBILITY by being factual, trying to appear objective and neutral, at times even running stories that seem to go against the stated national agenda. That is because you’re building CREDIBILITY like having money in the bank which you can withdraw some day in the future when you need it.
Once you develop a large following and people start reading it, start TRUSTING it, then you can begin to influence them.
Ukraine skewed that all up. Sure, they came in fierce flooding the internet with their message, but they have lost all credibility and trust. They have published and stood behind so much junk, stuff that later turned out as untrue and likely a blatant lie, that very few people believe anything they say.
They may have some traction by going through US media outlets, using them as a facade, which I have seen being done, but that is about the only way they can still get some folks to believe their message.

Now explain to me why a car needed prepared so well, how Ukraine just happens to now have a photograph (which even it that was the bomb does not do anything to prove who placed it there) and release it now?
Also motive, why does Russia blow up a damn that provides all tactical advantages to Ukraine and no for Russia, Why would the damage their on troops on the south side after the break and cause no harm to the Ukraine troops on the North side and then give a natural barrier to Ukraine for defense and create a serious disadvantage for the Russian troops.

Car packed with explosives is going to leave little evidence. Even if they found a serial number and that showed it was a Russian car , who had it since that time??? Besides the Russians had control so why would they have needed to use a car-bomb? That’s a terrorists type hit and run type of attack. For that matter if Russia wanted to flood couldn’t they have simply opened the flood gates???
If I remember it took FBI crime scene forensics months to prove the link to the van in the Tim McVeigh case.
Unless there is video evidence, captured agents etc I’d say this is laughable levels of propaganda.

Since the Russians control the dam, why not just open all the floodgates?
I can’t imagine that this isn’t a joke. I bet the person who blew up the dam was OJ. He probably was still looking for Michelle’s killer under the dam and accidently blew up the dam.

As said, why not open floodgates, also why do it in a way that may have caused Russian casualties and as pointed out before the tactical advantage was much greater for Ukraine than for Russia.
And let’s not forget Ukraine is invading nothing, forget about the famed “Spring Offensive” that never sprung?

Complete nonsense, flooding causes more problems for the attacker. That's why Soviets blew dams in WW2.
