Hillary Clinton said Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D. Calif.) should not resign from her seat in the Senate, despite the 89-year-old’s recent health problems and growing calls from some Democratic lawmakers for her to step down.
Clinton, a former New York senator, stressed the political reality that if Feinstein resigned, Republicans likely not allow a Democratic replacement to join the Senate Judiciary Committee, effectively preventing Democrats from confirming any judicial appointments.
“Here’s the dilemma: The Republicans will not agree to add someone else to the Judiciary Committee if she retires,” Clinton told Time magazine in an interview published Tuesday.

How could the GOP stop the Dems? They do still have a majority in the Senate, which means they should be entitled to a majority on each committee.

The Democrats have only a one-vote majority in the committee. If Feinstein resigns, she can't vote to replace herself with someone else, so it is a tie vote to replace anyone, and a tie vote doesn't win. And the VP can't cast the deciding vote if there is a tie since it's only a committee and not the entire Senate.
I should have added that only the committee members can vote for a new member to replace a member of the committee.

Setting aside how much you despise the woman, try and search your memory for just one thing that she EVER said that made any sense at all.
It really makes no difference if Feinstein is representing California in the Senate or someone else. The recorded votes will be the same no matter what Democrat sits in the chair.

This is perfect. Hillary dismisses the elder abuse part, the humanity part, the compassion part, the fact that she is ill and incapable of doing her job part, and boils it down to approving judicial nominees, just perfect.
No, Feinstein should just stay there until she dies. And then they should just leave her corpse rotting in her seat. It will STILL be difficult to distinguish her from a lot of the other rotten creatures in that chamber.
Feinstein looks like she got caught under the lawnmower. It’s amusing to watch the Dems play Weekend at Bernie’s.
