The White House ripped House Republicans for the debt ceiling legislation they passed last month, arguing spending cuts in the bill would be a “gut punch” to border agents.
The bill would raise the debt ceiling, but also makes good on Republicans’ promise to cut spending. Democrats, who in the Senate have signaled they will not consider the House bill, have gone on the offense on the spending cuts. The White House dubbed the bill the “Default on America Act.”

A simple solution to the debt ceiling issue:
1.) Some say they want A.) a ‘clean debt ceiling bill” but what they want ultimately ends up being a dirty debt ceiling bill without cuts.
2.) And they insist on B.) raising the debt ceiling first and then tackling spending cuts separately.
3.) But others say let’s raise the debt ceiling while simultaneously having the bill cut back on things the left and the right want to keep - domestic welfare spending and military spending - and make it a bipartisan bill.
4.) And once again we are back in the same place, time and time again, where we have a debt ceiling raise bill that ends up dirty.
5.) And it will end up having corporate welfare handouts in it and most from both sides will vote yes on those.
If Dems don’t want the same thing yet again, and want to stop the corporate welfare potentially, don’t pass a dirty debt ceiling bill.
Sadly though some are clueless, and regardless of past presidents we have to now curtail spending, so crying about what past presidents spent won’t fix anything.
Over 600 billion a year is now spent on interest of the National debt. Adjusted for inflation the entire mission to land men on the moon was 204 billion. I can remember how the Left moaned about all that money wasted on Apollo. If not for double standards the Left would have none at all.
And he won’t even consider cutting the budgets of the MANY unconstitutional alphabet agencies.
What’s the sense of having border patrol if you won’t let them do their jobs and enforce the laws?

Quite honestly, the entire border patrol may as well be laid off until we have an administration that is willing to enforce our immigration laws as they were intended. The border patrol is unable to do their jobs at the moment. They ARE currently a waste of taxpayer dollars.
There is no debt ceiling when each time the limit approaches the ceiling is raised. It is a complete farce used by Democrats and Republicans alike. Spending cuts and realignment of government responsibilities are needed. The 10th Amendment is only guide required to fix the federal budget and right size government. It is meant to be taken literally.
