Poll: Trump Enjoys 43-Point Swing His Way Among Texas Republicans Since November
Breitbart ^ | 4/4/23 | NICK GILBERTSON

The majority of Texas Republicans want to see former President Donald Trump as their 2024 presidential nominee, according to a poll.

The CWS Research poll, conducted for the Defend Texas Liberty PAC, shows that 52 percent of likely GOP primary voters in the Lone Star State support Trump for the nomination. He sits a whopping 32 percentage points ahead of his closest potential competitor, Gov. Ron Desantis (R-FL), who has 20 percent. A portion of the poll was conducted after a New York grand jury indicted Trump last week on 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree.

Now, polls right now mean next to nothing. Especially for Texas.

But if people's opinions have, in reality, swung THAT much in 5 months, it's amazing.

November DeSantis — 43% (+11) Trump — 32%

Doesn't pass the laugh test.

Doesn’t pass the laugh test.

This might have been after the midterms, when blaming Trump for the losses was all the rage and House control was still in question.

At no time, anywhere do I think Desantis has ever been ahead of Trump. Especially in Texas.

This is like a team winning a pre-season game by 4 TDs and thinking they are going to win The Super Bowl.

“At no time, anywhere do I think Desantis has ever been ahead of Trump. Especially in Texas.”

I don’t either. But I can picture a lot of conservatives after the midterms saying to a pollster “I’m done with Trump at this point, I’d vote for Desantis.” Then they come to their senses.

Breitbart is so pro- Trump their credibility doesn’t come across as very objective anymore.

And very few people have changed their opinions on Trump since November. Not at all.

The most recent Biden-Trump poll is from Rasmussen (3/30-4/3).

Rasmussen shows Trump up +7.

Margin of Error is 3.0

The last seven polls (2/24-4/4) are much closer.

Average - Trump 44.1 - Biden 42.3 - includes Rasmussen +7

There needs to be a list of things that the leftist Deep State has done to Trump. It should be appalling to decent people how corrupt the government has become.

Good catch, PIF.

I completely missed the DeSantis +8 on Biden.

Was that from the same Rasmussen poll that has Trump +7 on Biden?

National Survey of 971 U.S. Likely Voters
Conducted March 30 and April 2-3, 2023
By Rasmussen Reports

1* If the 2024 presidential election were between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, who would you vote for?

2* If the 2024 presidential election were between President Joe Biden and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who would you vote for?

NOTE: Margin of Sampling Error, +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence

I suspect after the debates start the Indian American is going to shoot up and may even pass Desanctimonius. Just based on listening to him. He’s more where Trump’s base is the Ron, of Paul Ryan

Likely voters in a general is trash. They have no clue whose ballots are going to be counted. Registered votes is probably a more accurate model going forward

Intriguing.

DeSantis does better (probably among independents) in the general election than Trump.

That’s troubling for Trump if that holds up.

The 38% probably reps the absolute core vote levels for Biden. 38% lunatic fringe will vote for a Democrat no matter what.
