Sen. Joe Manchin accused the Biden administration of not implementing the Inflation Reduction Act as intended, arguing it is “ignoring” the law’s provisions to expand fossil fuels for purely partisan purposes and undermining its ability to reduce the national debt.
“{I]nstead of implementing the law as intended, unelected ideologues, bureaucrats and appointees seem determined to violate and subvert the law to advance a partisan agenda that ignores both energy and fiscal security,” the West Virginia Democrat wrote in an op-ed published Wednesday in the Wall Street Journal.
“Specifically, they are ignoring the law’s intent to support and expand fossil energy and are redefining ’domestic energy’ to increase clean-energy spending to potentially deficit-breaking levels. The administration is attempting at every turn to implement the bill it wanted, not the bill Congress actually passed,” he said.

Manchin is a dummy, but not so dumb that he believes his own Alec Baldwin defense.
The fake moderate act on full steam.
Anyone who voted for the Inflation Reduction Act is an economic mental midget. That includes Manchin. Any bill that does not radically decrease federal spending will increase inflation at this point. Further spending outstrips revenue and the sale of treasuries, thus requiring quantitative easing. That directly counter acts the effects of interest rate increases. This, my FRiends, is how we get stagflation.

I ran Manchin’s comments thru my Jonny Quest decoder ring. Here’s what I got:
I’m up for re-election next year, so I’ve got to talk tough. But of course I can still be bought if the price is right.
It’s getting close to campaign season—the open borders, marxist socialist who pretends to be just another hillbilly at election time has to put on his, ‘I’m not like all the other democRATs’ act, in order to dupe West Virginia voters into installing him for another 6 years.
So one might see Manchin is saying the administration is not following the laws passed by congress?
Reduce the debt? Then spend less. Soend a lot less.
The only factor capable of inducing debt reduction is inflation. The tried and true way to eliminate debt is de value the currency. At 10% inflation, the debt is halved in about 7 years.
There is talk about this and that. I suspect that all American coinage will cease to be used and circulation ended.
The usage of various electronic payment methods will gradually reduce the usage of paper currency in normal trade
This is just Manchin pretending to be a moderate before he faces the voters of WV next year. Will the voters of WV be fooled again?
He must be up for re-election.
