Early in the pandemic, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis repeatedly praised President Donald Trump for the expedited development and rollout of a coronavirus vaccine. The governor’s office pushed for $480 million in pandemic resources, including media campaigns promoting the shots, according to state budget documents. And DeSantis, a Republican, even lauded the Biden administration for helping to expand access to vaccines.
“We’re having more vaccine because of this, which is great,” DeSantis said of a federal program shipping shots to pharmacies in February 2021.
But this past week, DeSantis threw himself into misleadingly disparaging the vaccines, convening skeptics to buck guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and seeking to investigate vaccine makers for fraud.
“These companies have made a fortune off this federal government imposing or at least attempting to impose mandates, and a lot of false statements,” DeSantis said at the roundtable event on Wednesday. “I think people want the truth and I think people want accountability, so you need to have a thorough investigation into what’s happened with these shots.”
A review of DeSantis’s public positions on the vaccines shows a full reversal that has unfolded gradually since 2021, seizing on the shots’ waning efficacy against new virus variants and portraying evolving scientific advice as deliberate deceit.
The hard-line position he’s now staking out is taking on additional significance: DeSantis is widely seen as a potential presidential candidate in 2024, with many Republicans wanting him to challenge Trump for the GOP nomination and some seeing vaccines as a potential wedge issue to outflank the former president to his right.

He reminds me a little of Cruz. Always “refining” his position to win favor in the moment.

You want Trump to flip like DeSantis? And why didn’t DeSantis say this a year ago? How is it wonderful a year or so ago, but suddenly bad now?
Trump has reversed his policies as well. We all have since we discovered the conspiracy.

Fauci can stab Trump in the back all he wants but Trump followed the CDC’s guidance and if it weren’t for Trump we wouldn’t even have HAD a vaccine.
And while the vaccine has its issues, if used PROPERLY, to inoculate the elderly and immune compromised, it would’ve served its purpose. It was the insidious stupid and oppressive mandates to all that were and are the problem and caused many healthy people to take it unnecessarily and get the lethal side effects.
The guy is exactly what I would expect from a slimy Ivy League lawyer who has worked in government all his life.

No, from the beginning Trump said we’re getting screwed by our own government. It was Trump who went very public, declaring it’s fake, fraudulent and totally corrupt, the likes which no one has ever seen. He’s still saying it and was proven 100% correct.
He hit the ten ring and and only a couple years later government’s hired guns raid his private residence.

When you have a health specialist, Dr. "I am Science", as your trusted advisor,
you follow the science and the self described specialists.
When you forget the over-hyped and hoaxed panic by the specialists and the compliant media, you ignore history
and all the mis-information that drove us to overly comply with a two staged "experimental" vaccine, issued under emergency conditions
that hadn't even been tested against the covid infection.
Say what ? IT wasn't even tested against the virus ?.?
You do the best you can with the scientific information given, even if it is later found out later to be wrong, or even intentional propaganda.
At that point, you either agree with the hype, follow the herd mentality, and do the best you can,
or you change direction and hold the mis-informants who gave you information accountable and responsible,
especially if they help to illegally fund off-shore "gain-of-function" research in a foreign bioweapons biolab.

DeSantis position rightfully changed, in light of all the evidence that has come to light about the “safe and effective” vaccines.
