“A review of DeSantis’s public positions on the vaccines shows a full reversal that has unfolded gradually since 2021, seizing on the shots’ waning efficacy against new virus variants and portraying evolving scientific advice as deliberate deceit. “

A fair criticism.

He reminds me a little of Cruz. Always “refining” his position to win favor in the moment.

In the spring of 2020 DeSantis imposed lockdowns in Florida that were pretty much identical to what we saw from Nazis in California, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, etc. And then he and his sycophants had the b@lls to run around on the campaign trail in 2022 bragging that he had been a “protector of freedom during COVID.”

The guy is exactly what I would expect from a slimy Ivy League lawyer who has worked in government all his life.

If new facts\evidence present themselves only a fool doesn’t ‘refine’ his\her position. In short, change the facts change the mind!

Kind of parallels the facts as they were exposed concerning the vaccine, it's efficacy, or lack thereof, it's dangers and the coverups as they became obvious.

Trump is my #1 , DeSantis a close #2, but evidence mounted to change many minds. Silly not to do so, DjT should follow, but that’ll be awkward for him, won’t it ?

Or, you know. Actually learning. Amazing to get attacked from the Left and from the TrumpChumps for using your brain. I’m glad Trump “evolved” his formerly abhorrent position on abortion, and decided to oppose his former pals like the Clintons. I was a little concerned at first it was merely political theater, like other “pro-life” Republican presidents and presidential candidates (GHWB, Dole, McCain, Romney, etc.) And I’m trilled that Trump actually got it right.

It takes a spectacular type of craven politics to begrudge someone changing their positions. But it’s all the more spectacular when it’s obvious that the change occurred because the situation on the ground changed. After all, vaccines were once hailed by Trump and everyone insisted they were voluntary. DeSantis shifted as the vaccines turned out to be crap, but enforcement turned out to be mandatory. That’s called REASONABLE, not craven.
