Actor John Travolta highlighted his close relationship with Kirstie Alley in a touching tribute to the late actress after news broke Monday she had died from cancer.
Travolta, who co-starred in a series of films with the stunning actress, posted two photos to Instagram Monday of Alley with a brief, but heartfelt message.
“Kirstie was one of the most special relationships I’ve ever had,” he wrote. “I love you Kirstie. I know we will see each other again.”
Alley, the two-time Emmy-winning star of the renowned sitcom “Cheers” was 71. Her death was announced by her two children.
“We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away from a battle with cancer, only recently discovered,” part of the post stated.
RIP Kirstie.
Woopsie Goldberg probably won’t let him because Kirstie wasn’t a rabid liberal
“I was on a plane today and did something I rarely do. I watched an old episode of Cheers,” Danson who played Sam Malone, said in a statement to Deadline. “It was the episode where Tom Berenger proposes to Kirstie, who keeps saying no, even though she desperately wants to say yes. Kirstie was truly brilliant in it. Her ability to play a woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown was both moving and hysterically funny. She made me laugh 30 years ago when she shot that scene, and she made me laugh today just as hard. As I got off the plane, I heard that Kirstie had died. I am so sad and so grateful for all the times she made me laugh. I send my love to her children. As they well know, their mother had a heart of gold. I will miss her.”
Wow, Ted Danson not being a jerk. Good on him.
This is really touching.
I really feel bad she is gone. She was ‘one of us’. You had the impression there was no ego there, even though she was beautiful and famous. She really made you laugh and wow, what a head of beautiful hair.
I loved her in ‘A bunny’s tale’.
What a gorgeous woman she was.
Yep, cancer sucks.
I always loved her eyes too- she was a beautiful woman.
Sadly gone but left us many good memories. RIP 🙏
Here she is in 5min clip as a contestant on “Match Game:” https://youtu.be/_6uC7SgzTLM

Prayers for her family and friends. She was a good actress, and her Twitter feed was a hoot.
Thought I’d put this here for anyone to see.

I wonder if it was pancreatic cancer. Nasty stuff. It’s probably going to kill a beautiful young friend of ours within the next 6 months — not even in her 60’s yet.
Why can’t this country get its act together and find cures for this SHIT — instead we send billions to that fruitcake in Ukraine!!!
Nice story. Thank you. RIP, Kirstie...
She had a show called Fat Actress on Showtime, It was a show I would watch with my then teenage daughter it was so hilarious she could make fun of herself and had such great timing, I thank her for making a show I could share with my girl and all the other great work she did!
pancreatic cancer is quick compared to other cancers.
Patrick Swayze had it..............
Yes, she definitely had the Liz Taylor eyes.
And the Liz Taylor weight problem, God love her.
