Seattle teachers on strike over pay, staffing issues

SEATTLE (AP) — Red-shirted teachers and staff in Seattle Public Schools took to the picket lines instead of the classroom on what was supposed to be the first day of school Wednesday, striking for the first time since 2015 over issues that include pay and educational support for students who have struggled with years of pandemic learning.

Contract talks, which began months ago, continued. It was unclear how long the walkout might last, leaving many parents to scramble for alternative childcare. The city said it would open recreation centers for children in kindergarten through sixth grade beginning Monday.

“We encourage teachers and the school district to urgently reach a just and fair resolution that centers our students and prioritizes their education and future,” Mayor Bruce Harrell said in a statement.

Striking teachers stressed their main concern was educational and emotional help for students, especially those with special needs or learning difficulties. The Seattle Education Association said 95% of its voting members approved the strike.

Finally, the kids get a break from the indoctrination.

So they want their pay but do NOT want to work for it. The whole “to hell with the kids and their education” fits really well here.

“over issues that include pay and educational support for students who have struggled with years of pandemic learning.”

Pandemic learning? You overpaid worthless teachers stayed home and taught on Zoom even when you know you are meant to be in school.

Let them allow them to go on strike forever, with no pay, so parents can home school/take their kids to private schools.

This is what happens when you have a lot of people in jobs they hate.

Look, they live in cardboard shipping boxes under freeway overpasses and beg for food as it is:
How much are teachers paid in Seattle?
The highest paid teacher in the district had a salary of $130,272 in 2020-21, the most recent year data is available from the state of Washington. That teacher’s salary increased from $96,860 four years earlier. About 40% of the district’s 3,227 full-time teachers made $100,000 or more in 2020-21.Jul 8, 2022 The centersquare.com

Child home from school: Daddy, when did you first know you were a white supremacist systemic racist? Can I get a sex change?

Strike all year, teachers. Force the parents to take their kids elsewhere.

At least with the Seattle teachers on strike, students will not be subject to Leftist propaganda. No teachers equals no Leftist lies.

Many teachers do not know the subjects they are supposed to teach.

Parents need to pull their kids out of the public schools. The schools in the Seattle area are evil.

“We encourage teachers and the school district to urgently reach a just and fair resolution that centers our students and prioritizes their education and future...”

I agree... since the teachers are self-serving agenda driven indoctrination brown-shirts of the left, it would best serve the students to FIRE THEM ALL!!

“Striking teachers stressed their main concern was educational and emotional help for students, especially those with special needs or learning difficulties. The Seattle Education Association said 95% of its voting members approved the strike.”

Translation: Any student using the pronouns he or she; any student not wearing LGBTQ-xyz color schemes, having refused attending Drag Queen and Fellatio 1 & 2 classes, as well as those who would willfully resist and question their indoctrination, and/or be caught either thinking for themselves or reading banned conservative material and/or the Bible would be subject to immediate removal and sent directly to a disciplinary re-education camp for special needs. These unfit students must be silenced and re-programmed in a special needs camp for wayward students who refuse to submit to the will of the Seattle Youth Thought & Control authorities referred to as “teachers.” Discipline would include, but not limited to... electric shock treatments, clubbing, mind control drug treatments, threats upon their families and friends, and any additional disciplinary punishments necessary that would successfully correct their thinking and compel them to accept/submit to the leftist world-view.

These poor underpaid teachers get 63,000 to 120,000 for a 9 month job with numerous holiday days off and sick days. Yeah they are really working the salt mines.
