Texas cop says officers didn't rush to find gunman because 'they could have been shot' then claims they DELIBERATELY locked inside classroom to save other students: Experts slam 'disgusting' decision that doctors say sealed the fate of injured kids

Texas cops said last night that they didn't immediately rush in to find the shooter on Tuesday's attack after being shot at because they feared they might be killed, and even suggested that they deliberately locked the gunman in the classroom where he slaughtered 21 people in order to trap him.

***

He was being challenged by Wolf Blitzer over why the first officers who responded to the shooting retreated after Salvador Ramos shot at them with his AR-15 and then waited an hour for tactical SWAT teams to take him out, leaving him alone in a classroom with the 19 fourth graders and two teachers who he slaughtered.

***

So they were able to contain that gunman inside that classroom so that he was not able to go to any other portions of the school to commit any other killings,' Lt. Olivarez said.

*** ***

'Waiting an hour is disgusting. If that turns out to be true, then it is a disgusting fact,' Sean Burke, a retired school resource officer from Massachusetts who now is the president of the School Safety Advocacy Council, told NBC.

*** Surgeons at the hospital in Uvalde have also suggested that the delay in responding to the shooting may have cost some kids their lives.

***

There is growing anger and frustrating among parents who were pepper sprayed, pinned to the ground and even placed in handcuffs.

Angeli Gomez (above) jumped the school fence and ran inside the school where she rescued her children herself

'The police were doing nothing,' Angeli Rose Gomez told the Wall Street Journal.

Do you need any more evidence that the police are only there to protect and serve the interests of the powerful and elite?

They keep changing the story.

But, don’t worry, they are investigating the situation.

Cowards play word games so they can sleep at night ... just like liberals. The ones that restrained the parents should be tried for murder and hung publicly.

Mobility is what you need to survive, especially when disarmed.

Who set up this murderous policy? That cop should be put on trial.

Ironic that Obama mentioned the Floyd murder… because that cop should be tried for facilitating murder.

Mobility is what saves your life in a scenario like this.

That cop simply used the kids as bait to save his arse.

In the Military, they call the hour after a traumatic battle wound has been received the “Golden Hour.” It is within this Golden Hour that if the victim receives advanced medical care they stand an extremely high chance of survival. This is why the Military spends so much money on Medevac helicopters, etc.

Think of those poor children. Even if they were all shot within the first few minutes of the attack, they were left there to bleed out for the next 45 minutes or more before any medical attention could be administered to them.

Had the police immediately stormed the shooter and neutralized him, that would have been more precious minutes to get those children the medical care they so desperately needed, and could have dramatically reduced the fatality rate of the attack.

The intentionally slow response, and the whole idea of just waiting around for the SWAT team to arrive shows either planned malice, utter idiocy, or great cowardice by the police on the scene.

By the time the woman shown in the article was detained, handcuffed by a federal marshal, released after intervention by a local police officer, climbed the fence, entered the school, and escaped with her children, surely one or more of the heavily armed and body armored police could have engaged the shooter. Certainly they could have evacuated a lot of children since a parent acting with them trying to stop her still managed to evacuate her own kids.

These cops are cowards.

No amount of posturing and excuses should ever assuage their guilt, pain or humiliation with the deaths of these children at least partially on their hands.

I would not want to be around any of them ever. They are simply disgusting. They deserve to live in constant torment. They can never make amends for their lack of action.

In the world of men there used to be nothing worse than a coward and a liar. These people are both.

They need to be remembered as the Cowards of Uvalde. I’d pay to erect a monument to their memory.

Contemptible cowards every last one of them.

Every last one of them needs to be fired, stripped of their pensions, and prosecuted for malfeasance, up to and including the Chief of Police and the Sheriff of the County.

Then shun them completely. Don’t speak to them. Don’t buy from, sell to, or trade with them.

Let them wear the shame of their cowardice until the day they die and beyond.

That is true, and what the police did in this case simply cannot be explained by any rational reasoning. It will surely lead to theories that what they did was done intentionally.

From the diagram shown in the article, and photographs of the school building, it appears that every classroom has a large number of windows opening to the outside. I can't see any reason why the heavily armed police outside could not have engaged the shooter through the windows of the classroom from the outside.

The headline and story do not match. But nobody cares about that. You want to be outraged so you believe the nonsense that comes from the Daily Mail of all places. Shame on all of you.

There are two genuine heroes in this story. The parent, Angeli Gomez and that Border Patrol cop. I don’t believe his name has been released yet.

As for all the other cops who just stood around in their expensive tactical gear, they are a mixture of cowards and morons.

Yeah, I get that an assault on that classroom would be dangerous. Get your tear gas, flash grenades, and police dogs - and just do it. Save what children that you can. You don’t want to take the same risk that mother took? Then you never should have signed up to be a cop in the first place.

I suppose my comments will offend some reflexively pro-police folks. Don’t care.

From what we know at this time it would be very hard to argue against what you said. By growing accounts it sure appears that law enforcement on the scene did everything they could to protect their own lives.

That is unmitigated cowardness.

I would love the accurate source that gives evidence that the cops LOCKED the door to the classroom themselves in order to keep him in there rather than he locked the door which the police could not get open.

They all should turn in their badges! Let the citizens arm themselves and provide for their own protection. Set up a security duty roster at all schools. Let men do what men were designed to do. The hell with the elites and the mayors. They do nothing but play politics.

Soon as the first shot was fired or heard the situation called for immediate dynamic entry to find, fix, and kill the perp. The police should be ashamed of themselves.
