Outgoing Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti lacks the votes on the Senate floor to be confirmed as U.S. Ambassador to India, according to a report Sunday by Axios, which says Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has conceded defeat.
Garcetti was considered a long shot for the Cabinet after Black Lives Matter activists staged protests outside his home in Los Angeles after the 2020 election, demanding President-elect Joe Biden not include him among senior administration members.

Danton was not woke enough for Robespierre.
Garcetti is not Liberal enough to even get an Ambassador appointment? This, after helping to ruin the Los Angeles area with watered down laws for the homeless and illegal immigrants. Some gratitude, right, Eric?
Wow. On another recent thread, Garcetti was noted as one of a group of city mayors, who are pushing reparations for slavery.
Advocating slave reparations isn’t good enough for black activist types??? What the heck???
So I guess he shouldn’t hold his breath then, huh?
Just another rent-a-mob deployed against a political figure as part of a very opaque factional conflict. It does not matter what the politician says he supports.
Black activists are shock troops who will go where their sponsors tell them to go. The "reasons" for their activities are always false.
The insiders know why Garcetti was proposed as Ambassador to India and what he was expected to do or get of the position. They also know who opposed that candidate and why they opposed them.
I haven't seen any truthful explanations of those points offered to the public.
Good news.
Pretty sad when a Commie Judge has the Senate votes but a trival post like ambassador does not.
He’d make a great target, er, Ambassador to Somalia. In fact, Omar could introduce him to some of her warlord jihadist friends.
Oh, I’m sure he would be quite a useful tool & fool for Govt. purposes. Somewhat like the infamous Hunter Biden.
Good!
