IMO pence was the bush league/deep state insurance policy.

As such I firmly believe that he was the primary “anonymous source” of leaks within the administration that the media used to bash President Trump with.

I never did much care for pence.
He seemed a little goody two-shoes for me. He’s probably an all right guy if he was your preacher, but I think he is way too nice to be president. And not willing to really fight back when people get after him.

Pompeo is a natural for Trump’s VP. He’s a tough guy who doesn’t take any crap from anyone. He does it in a nice way though. 😁

I was not aware that Trump picked Pence for 2024.

That article pushes the big lie. There was a great deal of evidence that the electoral votes of important states were achieved through specific evidence of cheating and voting fraud. VP Pence was the only person in the country who had the authority to send those votes back to those states for investigation.

Trump did not ask Pence to change anything or to declare anything - just to do what was within his authority to do - to have the voting in those states investigated. Surely this step was necessary, given the bizarre ways the election process was held and how the voting count seemed to have been taken over by elves, etc. Pence chickened out of doing the right thing. This was his moment. He showed he is not the guy people thought he was. He would not win and shouldn’t run. The country learned from Pence’s distortion of what his role was that Pence’s moral compass is for show only. He had his chance to make sure there was a top notch investigation of the weird beyond weird closing down the voting and the many authoritative reports of massive voter fraud on the ground and computer count manipulation.

It’s not necessarily implicit. You do know that McCain didn’t pick Palin?

The Constitution does not specify offices that exist for the role of being a rubber stamp.

So one has to be dishonest to be “nice”?

I don’t think that will be a problem. Trump is out to destroy DeSantis, who he sees as the most dangerous potential rival for the nomination. Trump will probably get the nomination and DeSantis’ reputation will be so thoroughly damaged that he won’t be a viable candidate in 2028.
