While speaking to reporters on Wednesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said that while she is saddened by Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe’s defeat in the Virginia gubernatorial race, “the people have spoken.” And “We respect the results.” Pelosi also stated that the results in Virginia do not change the agenda for the House of Representatives.
Pelosi said, “Well, the people have spoken. We respect the results. I’m very sad. Terry McAuliffe was a great leader and he was a great governor of the state.”

Every single congressman in the house is up for re-election in 2022 unless they are retiring. All of them. So, Nancy, do you think the election results might have some impact on their willingness to tie themselves forever to Biden?
They have a choice but it’s not a good one. They don’t want to quit on their agenda but they just made their agenda much harder to pass. It will come down to the nuts and bolts (what’s actually in the bill itself) and that’s the stuff they’ve tried to avoid talking about, why Manchin said he can’t sign on, and where they hide all the stuff that the voters just repudiated.
The could go back to the drawing board, or even negotiate with the GOP to get some small bills on important projects but they won’t do that either.
I’d say it’s better to burn out than to fade away but it’s too late to say that to Pelosi, Schumer, Sanders...
The progressives did not show up because McAuliffe is a Clinton kleptocrat and not a loyal Obama communist.
Progressives are celebrating the cleansing of the party from those not loyal to the politburo.
Yet just a week ago Nancy was saying this election was a referendum on the Biden agenda.
