Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice wrote in a new op-ed that the past four U.S. presidents share blame for the crisis in Afghanistan, adding that they all made mistakes that have culminated in the Taliban retaking the country this week.
"The past years in Afghanistan have been difficult for every president, our armed forces, our allies and our country. The sacrifices of those who served — and those who died — will forever sear our national memory," Rice wrote in The Washington Post. "Each of us who held positions of authority over those years made mistakes — not because we didn’t try or were heedless of the challenges. But the United States could not afford to ignore the rogue state that harbored those who attacked us on 9/11. The time will come to assess where we failed — and what we achieved.

No question, she makes the statement that the last 4 Presidents made mistakes in Afghanistan, what she fails to mention is she was a major part of one of those Presidential Administrations.....so she is just as responsible as everyone else....

Not to be flippant, but did Bush make mistakes based on her advice as National Security Advisor and then Secretary of State????? She was a key part of the Bush team which made mistakes. Is that what she is saying????

Rice argued in the op-ed, however, that 20 years in Afghanistan is not enough, saying more time in the country would have “served our strategic interests.”
She didn’t make enough yet off all the corruption and graft I need to steal more.
I think she did include herself “ each of us who held positions of authority “ . Not that I think it amounts to a hills of beans but she does appear to include herself in responsibility for ‘mistakes’.

I know very little about Muslim theology. I know they want people to convert to Islam.
But we talk about “Londonistan” due to the growing Muslim population in London, for example. Is colonization of countries a key part of their actions to spread Islam???

So, she can say mistakes were made by everyone, by many presidential administrations, including the one she was involved in. That way, she can say that the Bush administration is the same as every other administration in that regard.
