I hope that the people in Australia realize that those mice can carry bubonic plague and huntavirus...

Don’t kill the snakes, the mice won’t prosper.
Happened here.
Neighbors killed all the rat snakes, rats invaded.

Yep. The very scent of cats usually sends mice and rats away. It’s the scents from when they rub against doorways, fixtures, and furniture which makes them simply Divine at pest control.
They truly are a Godsend when it comes to mice and vermin.

I just checked with my friend in Sydney, and no, there is not a mouse plague in Sydney. He did confirm there is a mouse problem in some places of the country.

You should’ve been here the day he weed whacked ALL the Garter snakes who were draped over the lower branches of the old willow tree.
And then he decapitated the 30 year old *huge* rat snake who had lived here long before I moved here.
My great uncle used to move the trash barrel she slept under every time I visited, so I could see her.
*Now* that neighbor goes out of his way to protect the snakes.
/yeah, I went barbarian

He was a great pup. I shamed him into retrieving a duck when he was seven and he loved it after that.

Import a bunch of Wuhan Bats and Feral Pangolins from Red China. They’ll take care of the mice problem. They’ve already helped to take care of the world overpopulation (esp. of older people) problem. /sarc
To: boatbums
The feral cats themselves would then become the problem. Owls and hawks would be a better option for 24-hour pest control. There’s no such thing as a “feral owl colony.”
