Poll: Despite Record Turnout, 80 Million Americans Didn't Vote. Here's Why
National Public Radio / npr.org ^ | December 15, 2020 5:00 AM ET | Domenico Montanaro

More Americans voted in 2020 than in any other presidential election in 120 years. About 67% of eligible voters cast ballots this year, but that still means a third did not.

That amounts to about 80 million people who stayed home.

To better understand what motivates these nonvoters, NPR and the Medill School of Journalism commissioned Ipsos to conduct a survey of U.S. adults who didn't vote this year. The Medill school's graduate students did deep dives into various aspects of the survey here.

Nonvoters' reasons for not voting include:

not being registered to vote (29%) not being interested in politics (23%) not liking the candidates (20%) a feeling their vote wouldn't have made a difference (16%) being undecided on whom to vote for (10%)

They are disengaged, disaffected and don't believe politics can make a difference in their lives. They are also more likely to be Latino, younger, make less money and have lower levels of education than voters.

A lack of engagement overall

Difficulty voting doesn't appear to be a major reason why they don't vote. Three-quarters said they think it's at least somewhat easy to vote.

It's more that these voters feel a sense of alienation and apathy. They are generally detached from the news and pessimistic about politics, the survey found.

Politics is simply not the way to make change, they said. Two-thirds of nonvoters agree, for example, that voting has little to do with the way that real decisions are made in this country; they are 21 points more likely to say so than people who voted.

It will be even worse in coming years as more and more potential voters realize that the system is rigged, and their votes don’t count.

I hope these non-voters are forced to take it dry and ruff for the next 4 years!

Looking like sages these days in an era of rampant ballot stuffing.

Maybe it’s time the GOP finally musters up the energy to insist on all the election integrity measures common to the first world but fought tooth and nail by our communists for decades. Just an idea.

It wouldn’t have mattered if they did vote. We all voted, but the communist cheated and stuffed the ballot boxes with enough votes to illegally declare themselves the winner.

Instead of blaming them for our loss, how about we do something much more productive about that cheating problem and the communists?

All we can do is make it painful for those who vote for liberals or those that don’t vote.

How do you propose to do that?

Make voting compulsory? Arrest any who choose not to vote?

Believe or not, but there are still a lot of conservative, pro life, Christians, who somehow believe that voting is non-Christian. They are not from this world, and voting is somehow worldly and polluting, and should be avoided.

They do not like the leftist politics, the leftist ideas creeping in our society, the abortion, the persecution of Christians, but they would not vote to stop it.

I remember back in ages, that was pretty standard among evangelicals. I do not vote, because I am Christian!

Roe vs Wade, banning Christ from schools etc. changed minds of some, but not all!

Last year, I, and others, have diligently tried to convince many of them to get registered, but to no avail!

The whole premise of this article is we didn’t get enough votes to win, which is absurd on its face.

What we need is a Law that requires everyone to vote.
Jail time for not voting.
Have Vote Enforcement officers knocking on doors for a GOTV efforts.

Right, Comrades?

More Americans voted in 2020 than in any other presidential election in 120 years.

NPR? National Public Radio (aka Public Radio International [in a smug French accent]).

The voter turn out was high? Because of double voting in 2 or more states and dead voting and Dominion voting machines creating 100's of thousands of votes out of thin air.

The ComDem party should have ceased to exist due to their crimes in this election. But the Communist, Media, Globalist, Islamists were totally behind them.

We either deal with them now, or there will be no more elections and the nation will fall.

Luke ch 7
9 When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turning to the crowd that followed him, said, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith.”
