Twitter Confirms They Will Be Able To Ban Trump Starting January

President Trump will lose his current world-leader-status exemptions from Twitter’s policies after Joe Biden’s inauguration on Jan. 20, exposing him to stricter moderation.

Twitter has confirmed that Trump’s personal account could face restrictions or even a ban if he continues proliferating what the platform considers “conspiracy theories” after becoming a private citizen, The Independent reported. Twitter applies unique policies to world leaders and various public officials of major importance, leaving rule-infringing content unremoved if the public has a “clear” interest in being able to access such content, according to The Verge.

After noon, January 20, however, Trump will be ineligible for this protection and will have to follow the same guidelines as regular citizens, a Twitter spokesperson told Forbes on Thursday.

The spokesperson—speaking to Forbes on the condition of anonymity—stated that Twitter doesn’t have “special rules” for Trump, and refused to discuss or confirm any internal deliberations about the aftermath of banning Trump after he leaves the White House.

Having nearly 88.6 million followers, Trump ranks among Twitter’s top accounts, just under ex-president Obama, who boasts 125 million followers, the Independent reports.

Taking a jab at the outgoing president’s frequent use of the social media platform, incoming President-Elect Biden has previously written that when he becomes president, people will not have to be concerned about his tweets.

Censoring Trump after the coming inauguration would not be Twitter’s first act in content-restriction. In October, a month before the election, Twitter blocked the New York Post’s account after they refused to delete a tweet linking to a controversial story about Hunter Biden, Fox News reported.

Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz was among a group of GOP leaders who described the censorship as ‘election interference,’ according to New York Times.

There’s some sort of malignant virus that has penetrated the psyche of half of the citizens of the US, and it isn’t Corona. It’s got to be something mysterious that causes mass insanity.

It’s your patriotic duty to ban Twitter. Close your accounts with it. Same goes for several other “social media” companies. Shut down those accounts now.

The real question is, why is Trump not on Parler?
And why is he still on Facebook and Twitter?
I have never been on either and I find my quality of life just great.
Never understood why they call them “social media”. They are NOT social

For most of my life, there was no “social media” and I had a very active, happy social life with friends and family.
Who the heck needs “social media”?

, just under ex-president Obama, who boasts 125 million followers,

Almost all of whom are fake accounts from India and Africa.

Parler seems fine to me. Much more user friendly than Twitter and all the suggestions they bring are from people that I actually care about hearing from.

I already banned twitter. It’s a stupid app, boring, and fascistic on top of it.

Do you think any of the 80 million will really delete their twitter account if President Trump's account is deleted?

Millions of Trump followers have already deleted their Twitter account and joined Parler.

I doubt many will since most are probably fake to begin with.

No. You are fake to begin with.
If Trump had any “fake” followers on Twitter, wouldn't the Trump hating Twitter have deleted those users long ago?

Only reason I ever was on Twitter was because Trump was there. Even he couldn’t keep me there.

Great question. The same can be said about spectator sports. People just have no grasp of what they do. Say one thing, do another. The left however, plays to win. For keeps.

The left has reached a critical mass. There are enough people, without right wingers, to keep companies in profit. We have become expendable. Did the Red Hen go out of business? No. Anything bad happen to Chick-fil-a after their betrayal? No, still doing gangbusters.

The left figured it out. The right is a paper tiger.

Nice choice!

David Cameron (a previous prime minister of the UK) wasn’t a fan of Twitter - he famously said “too many Tweets make a Tw@t”.

Words to live by, Eggsy.

Nobody who posts on Twitter for 12 hours a day appears more classy as a result.

Yes. Liberal fascism is some kind of mass hysteria. They have lemming genes.

But we are reminded :

Sam Adams:( Founding Forefather)

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

There is no freedom of speech. It’s worse than Orwell could have imagined. By erasing someone from twatter, they are in effect erasing him from existence.

Do we wake up one day and the country is totalitarian? Or does it happen so gradually that the folks are too dense to see what is happening and actually enjoy the loss of freedom?
