Grandson of Harding and Lover Wants President's Body Exhumed
KOB4 ^ | September 13, 2020

Posted on 09/14/2020 3:01:57 PM PDT by nickcarraway

The grandson of U.S. President Warren G. Harding and his lover, Nan Britton, went to court in an effort to get the Republican's remains exhumed from the presidential memorial where they have lain since 1927.

James Blaesing told an Ohio court that he is seeking Harding's disinterment as a way "to establish with scientific certainty" that he is the 29th president's blood relation.

The dispute looms as benefactors prepare to mark the centennial of Harding's 1920 election with site upgrades and a new presidential center in Marion, the Ohio city near which he was born in 1865. Blaesing says he deserves to "have his story, his mother's story and his grandmother's story included within the hallowed halls and museums in this town."

Weirdly written. Why would the grandson's lover have standing in court?

Why would you celebrate that old corrupt Harding character?

Nothing will come of this.

More like a tempest in some sort of receptacle in which select leaves are brewed.

Harding’s father had 8 children so there are likely plenty of 2nd and 3rd cousins around, he should get a 23andMe DNA test which can provide relative names that have also been tested and who consent to identification to other family members.

Why would you celebrate that old corrupt Harding character?

Because he was a great president. He massively downsized the federal bureaucracy that had mushroomed during the Wilson administration and slashed the budget as well. No other president has been as effective at cutting government as Harding. He also cured a depression and ushered in what would become known as the Coolidge Boom.

I read somewhere that Harding’s election was first time women voted. I heard that many voted for him cause they thought he was handsome. ( I am a woman..I can believe it)

If you visit Marion, Ohio, make sure to visit the Harding home. It is filled with artifacts from the time Harding lived there. And the view from the front porch looks about the same as it did in 1920 when Harding stood there conducting his Front Porch campaign for the White House.

I always considered Harding and Coolidge the best presidents ever. Totally expanded the economy, paid the debt and lowered taxes.

No. That was Wilson’s scandal. The Democrats have been trying to blame Harding ever since.

Harding had one brother and four sisters who lived to maturity. If any of them have living descendants, DNA could be obtained from them. If not, there are probably more distant relatives whose kinship to President Harding is well documented who could be tested.

He has already been proven to be a descendant of Harding via DNA testing with two relatives of Harding. He’s just POd because his mother’s and grandmother’s story hasn’t been told at the Harding Museum.

From the article:

“A branch of the Harding family has pushed back against the suit filed in May - not because they dispute Blaesing’s ancestry, but because they don’t.

They argue they already have accepted as fact DNA evidence that Blaesing’s mother, Elizabeth Ann Blaesing, was the daughter of Harding and Britton and that she is set to be acknowledged in the museum. Harding had no other children.”

“Ironically, it was a pair of Harding’s known relatives - grandnephew Peter Harding and grandniece Abigail Harding - who first reached out to the Blaesing family in 2011 to end speculation about Harding having a child out of wedlock. “
