If a voter requests an absentee ballot, will their names be blocked from the list at the polling place on election day - to avoid double voting?

If you request an absentee ballot, you should be prohibited from voting in person - even if you did not return the absentee ballot.

If a person attempts to vote twice by voting by mail and then going to the polls to vote, it is a felony.

Do you think the Dems give a shit, when they’re bombing our cities?

Aren’t absentee ballot request forms available online anyway?

“These piss-ant judges need to be ignored.”

I doubt that Harris County will ignore the ruling and will instead go right ahead and mail the mail in ballot applications.

If a person attempts to vote twice by voting by mail and then going to the polls to vote, it is a felony.

Reactionary statutes like that don’t solve any problem. The double votes get counted anyway and go on the permanent, official record. There is no rectification possible in an anonymous ballot system.

Better to head off damage pre-emptively than to simply punish the wrongdoer after the unchangeable fact.

I have no problem with mailing applications for absentee ballots to all voters.

My cousin received two application notices from the state of Iowa. One address to Henry, his first name, the second to Robert, his middle name at the same address.

Both notices say, you are a registered voter.

I have no problem with mailing applications for absentee ballots to all voters.

I have a huge issue with mailing ballots unsolicited to all voters on the registration list.

This.

Application for absentee voting received here in Dallas. The restrictions on it are fairly stringent. What a nightmare to match everything up, yes. And what an opportunity for “new” voters to pop up as voted but not registered in time. Blah.

So how did this “judge” override the Supreme Court?

(Well, yes, he is a democrat = has no morals or ethics, but other than that, how can he justify overriding an issue that has been decided? )

Unfortunately, many people do not understand the difference.

They point of failure is going to be the people having to secure, verify, and count the ballots. In MA—this process cannot even start until the polls are closed. Of course, in MA, this won’t matter for the Presidential election. That vote is a forgone conclusion here. But for all the down ballot races it will be a pain in the rear.

Democrats ignore laws and court rulings that don't go their way.

Sometimes, you have to send in State Troopers.

It’s crap. The case was originally assigned to Frederica Phillips of the 61st District Court, who (surprisingly) did the right thing and recused herself on her own initiative because she is on the ballot. For some reason the case was re-assigned to Judge Sandill rather than any of the dozen civil district judges in Harris County who are either not up for re-election this year, the 3 who lost their primaries, or the two who are unopposed.

I am not surprised at all that Sandill did not recuse himself and ruled the way he did. He’s a punk. Fun fact: His name is Ravinder, and he goes by Ravi to his friends, but is sure to run as “R.K.” on the ballot because he is afraid people won’t vote for an Indian.

Full disclosure: I have a personal/professional beef with him, but I knew he was a bad judge even before that happened.

I am trying to see if the AG filed a motion to recuse Sandill, but, surprise surprise, the incompetent Democrat Harris County District Clerk’s site is down.

I am, of course, shocked, shocked that Sandill would fail to recuse himself and rule for the Democrat county clerk.

Next, this goes up to a 3-judge panel of either the First or Fourteenth Court of Appeals. As a result of the 2018 election, each court currently has a 5-4 Democrat majority (they were both previously all-Republican).

From there, it will go up to the all-Republican Texas Supreme Court where, as I suggested in a prior post, it will probably be consolidated with the In re Hotze case.
