HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A state district judge on Friday ruled that Harris County can move forward with its plan to send every registered voter an application to request a mail-in ballot for the November general election.

Two days after a video conference hearing, Judge R.K. Sandill rejected the Texas attorney general’s request for a temporary injunction blocking the plan. In his ruling, Sandill shot down the state's claim that Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins was acting outside of his authority by sending out the applications and that the move would harm voters.

I have no problem with mailing applications for absentee ballots to all voters.

I have a huge issue with mailing ballots unsolicited to all voters on the registration list.

I expect the actual ballots they get will already be filled out for them, saving them the trouble of hunting online to find out about the candidates.

You just know that there will be a very high percentage of
voting this election. People will be asked to sign up to
vote by mail, and will then turn those ballots over to
the Democrats.

In areas that have 65% turnout, who geherally have only 32%,
it should be very obvious that the election is being tainted
with illegal activity.

Vote in person. Encourage your family and friends to vote in person at the polls.

The votes are tabulated instantly. Once Trump wins that state, it doesn't matter about the mail-in votes. There's no need to count them anymore.

Sandill (Democratic Party) is running for re-election for judge of the Texas 127th District Court. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 3, 2020. He advanced from the Democratic primary on March 3, 2020.

watcha bet his name is on the ballot!

talk about a conflict of interest.

This will be reveresed. Ken Paxton has already sued on the basis that, by state law, mail-in ballots require a “qualifying disability”.

Now that Harris County has the green light to mail out ballot applications, you can be sure that Dallas, Bexar, El Paso and Travis Counties follow suit.

I’m curious whether the absentee voting process, by law, requires the voter to reach out for the application. If not, then I’m okay with sending the applications.

If voters are required to request applications under the actual wording of the law, then Harris County is out of line. Harris County is Houston, and you know which party rules (not governs) there.

There is no blanket right to vote for President in the US Constitution. We are not a democracy, no matter what Trump and the other side say. I hope no one in my family has a heart attack or stroke, given what the Democrats are telegraphing.

The votes are tabulated instantly. Once Trump wins that state, it doesn't matter about the mail-in votes. There's no need to count them anymore.

Only if Trump wins by more votes than there are uncounted absentee ballots. Otherwise, the mail-in votes WILL be counted.

I’d imagine they would.

Was reading how a lot of polling stations were going to be
closed in Maryland. 85% of them.

Serioulsly!

That should drive up the voting my mail numbers.

From Ken Paxtons' website:

“Under Texas election law, mail-in ballots are reserved for a few limited categories of qualified voters who are age 65 and older and voters who are disabled. Earlier this year, the Texas Supreme Court ruled that fear of contracting COVID-19 does not qualify as a “disability” and mail-in ballots must be preserved for qualifying groups. ”

So Lina gave him and the SC the middle finger.
