The company leadership was so woke it was nauseating to listen to the VP’s talk. When I presented a logical rebuttal to a female VP’s argument about hiring ex-con’s instead of people who had no record, her face colored an angry red. My leg got tapped under the table and the subject got changed.
The left has been trying to do away with non-PC speech for a long, long time. In the old Soviet Union older political officers told the new ones, “Try to say as little as possible. What is okay to say today will get you executed tomorrow.”
Why someone would work towards that, I don’t know. You would think they would realize that, eventually, the mob would come for them.

Trump should go even further and pardon anyone in jail for drug use. Three strikes and you’re out on USE is absurd. Heck, many of them are probably already out on the Covid Jail Release programs anyhow, might as well steal the issue away. That will further eat into the Dems base.
I never project my beliefs. I never assume that my beliefs are shared by others just because I believe them. I’m also aware that Obama won twice and that Trump lost the popular vote in 2016. It’s healthy to understand this country is not at all the same as it was a mere 20 years ago. I believe the polls. They were correct 4 years ago - most were showing Hillary winning by 2 or 3 points and she won by 2 point something.
