Sit by or Make a Difference with Free Republic?

Back in 1997 a highly patriotic man got tired of being censored at a popular site of the time. With his understanding of America's Constitution, he created a site called Free Republic (FR). It was/is a very fitting name. It grew exponentially and the participants started creating FR city chapters for local activism beyond their discussions. They were on the streets no matter the age, race, or sex.

One sentence from Jim Robinson created an entire movement that brought people from all over the country to make a statement in DC about Bill Clinton. It was called the "March For Justice" Thousands came and volunteered for any position they could get. I was extremely privileged to be the coordinator, but had to disappoint many for what they preferred. Still, they did their jobs. I couldn't be more proud of those patriots.

It was THE first Internet sponsored rally and was highly successful with many conservative politicians taking the stage.

There were many other FR events/gatherings, but eventually the chapters fell away. Some chapter leaders died, some just got too infirmed, some just lost interest with the success of Pres. Trump, or just got tired.

With the anarchy happening nightly across out great nation, now is the time to re-group. I'm asking anyone who has the time, finances, youthful outlook to join me in re-forming the Free Republic Network.

DUKE!!!

I’d sign up, but we moved back to NJ 20 years ago.

I remember the first meeting. It was a cloudy day in a park somewhere. It was great to meet so many like minded people, and the group grew and grew and grew!

Eventually, we fielded an Army, an Air Force, and a Navy.

Those were glorious days!

Hope you’re doing well.

I’m just getting old.

I do remember her! I will have to think about it. She kept amazing records.

Going to have to go to Beta waves, in falling asleep.

When I think of it I will answer you. Promise.

Good to hear from you, Roger!

One of the 10 best things I ever did was participate in the March for Justice. It was an incredible day, and I will never forget it.

I sincerely hope Seeking the Truth still monitors FR. I haven’t heard from him in a long time. He was instrumental in marshaling the Florida Chapter way back when.

I’ve been away from Florida for 20 years, but still check in with a few Florida Freepers.

I don’t do much marching these days, but could be persuaded to make a few protest signs if they’re needed!

It would be great to get this machine cranked up and running again!!!!

Best Wishes

Pete

I’m getting along AOK for an old codger. That first meeting was at the Marriot hotel on International Drive in Orlando - it was a bright an glorious day. We sure did get something big started that day!

Great to hear from you. The sunshine state is a-missin’ ya!
