I have another suggestion. Require all able-bodied citizens to go armed in public. Provide severe fines if a citizen fails to take reasonable steps to defend themselves during an assault or robbery.

Most (if not all) of these cities are controlled by the left. Athens-Clarke, home of Univ. of Georgia, has been totally taken over by progressives in the past two election cycles. Surrounding areas are very conservative so I don’t think this will go anywhere at this time but they will keep pushing.

SO we are suppose to stand there and get the sh*t beat out of us instead of shooting an attacker if we are fearful of losing our lives particularly in our own properties or if someone is attempting to hijack our vehicle? BS!
The Georgia Legislature should Double Down as a result of this ridiculous request and make it a Felony for ANY Elected Official to have anyone in their Employ or Employed on their behalf in possession of Any Weapon, Firearm or Ammunition for the purposes of protection or security.
Self defense tactics usually involve trading space for time, so standing firm is not necessarily smart, so as you back off or move offline to cover, you are effectively demonstrating de-escalation and good faith to not have to use force/lethal force. Being on camera doing things that clearly indicate your unwillingness to use force is a good thing. Having to use it in the end may be unavoidable.
Now, if with my wife or family, I don’t think I will be too interested in much retrograde action as I probably can’t herd family and be as situationally aware as needed in a potential lethal force engagement.

Best defense is avoidance and avoidance is directly related to situational awareness.
