A Republican-authored police reform bill failed in a Senate test vote Wednesday after Democrats opposed the bill on the basis it did not go far enough sparking a furious war of words on the floor and marking an apparent impasse just weeks after George Floyd's death led to calls for new legislation.
The procedural vote on whether to start debate was 55-45; it needed 60 votes in order to proceed. Republicans had 53 votes, but not enough Democrats joined them.
This effectively freezes police reform in Congress for now, even if the House approves its own measure on Thursday.

Thats fine. This just helps illustrate none of this has anything to do with the fake epidemic of police brutality.

This just helps illustrate...the DEMOCRATS have nothing to do with properly managing the United States of America.
Good. Passing nothing is better than passing something that is going to make it harder for police to do their jobs.

Well thats because it didnt have free college tuition for everyone in it.
Panic Laws never end well.
Let it die

I think the DNC and all the Liberal clowns have to run interference for Slow Joe.
Just consider, any other candidate this close to a national election, would be in our faces 24/7
But Slow Joe is incapable of that. So the Liberals and their idiot cronies turned themselves into decoy ducks. They have to fill up all the available media time a properly nominated and competent nominee would be using.
They keep making monumental issues out of nothing so they can APPEAR to be busy with the country’s business....and all the while, Slow Joe is napping somewhere.
Pelosi accuses republicans of being responsible for the George Floyd murder. Yet, the ‘murder’ occurred under democrat administrations, in the city and state in which it occurred. So, she should be pointing the finger at the democratic party, which is also the party of racism throughout the slavery times and during the last 100 years.
Democrats want to keep the issue alive, even if there are other George Floyd type incidents. To them, it’s a small price to pay in order to try to beat Trump in November. Sacrificing blacks is not that big an issue to them.
Any other blacks that are killed by police or regular citizens, should all be blamed on democrats. Democrats are the party of chaos and defunding the police and abolishing the police.
Whatever solution republicans had/of have to offer, won’t be allowed by democrats, since, they want to be the party that offers a solution and want to be the party that takes credit for the solution. They won’t take any chances in having republicans or Trump solving the problem.

The vile, demonic Botoxian is the spittin’ image and takes right after its Big Daddy in hell; the Father of Lies.
So theoretically let’s say what it *does* do is beneficial - the Dems would rather do nothing beneficial if it isn’t their bill.
You folks are not paying attention. We need 60 votes. There are 55 Republicans. The only thing that matters WHICH 2 of ours chickened out? I can guess but you folks shouldn’t blame the Democrats.
There are 53... Including RINO Romney.
Just wait when the GOP loses the Senate.
Neither side wants to pass a bill. They just want the issue to hammer the other side over.
Time for Republicans to start advertising that the Democrats voted against police reform.
