YouTube will create a $100 million fund dedicated to amplifying and developing the voices of Black creators and artists and their stories, the CEO announced Thursday.
CEO Susan Wojcicki committed to the multi-year fund in her mid-year update to center and amplify Black voices and perspectives on the video platform.
We have always been proud that we are a platform that celebrates a broad and diverse set of voices, she wrote. And we have implemented many policies and product features to protect our communities.
But we recognize we need to do more, in particular with the Black community, and that is why we are committing to following actions, she added.
Wojcicki cited the upcoming live stream fundraising event Bear Witness, Take Action as an example of content YouTube wishes to further promote. The event produced by YouTube Originals will feature creators, artists, public figures and activists for discussions and musical performances on Saturday, with the donations going to the Equal Justice Initiative.
The platforms Spotlight channel will focus on racial justice issues through the rest of the month, including perspectives from black community members, historical content, educational videos and protest coverage, she said.

Special treatment is NOT equal treatment.
“Racial justice” is happy talk camouflaging anti-white race hatred.
It is digital Jim Crow against white people.

Great: Six part series on Stepinfetchit, and a three parter on Bojangles.
Not black creators.
What you mean is socialist black creators.
Patriot black creators don’t need your help.
I’m becoming racist now.
When I visit somebody in town, and their electric television is on, I don’t see any racial discrimination.
The protected classes are always the smartest people on screen, giving orders, solving problems, spending money (lots of money), driving the best cars, taking long vacations, moving across barriers, and loving all the women.
Am I being fed a false narrative?
I already hear enough from black people. Getting a bit tired of them
What if their work sucks?
How many blacks in YouTube upper management?
At least 25% of management positions at YouTube should be held by blacks.
I make sure my Ad Blocker is running when I go to YouTube
Lately, I’ve been enjoying classic rock live videos on U-Tube. Guess I’ll go back to my DVD and CD collection.
I would rather then just make blacktube and have all the videos there and those that want to can spend all day there surfing videos.
Cause Blacks have no voice in the United States...

How about a voice for the silent majority of Blacks.
They’re the only ones I’m not hearing from, and they are
the majority of Blacks.
I have been noticing that as well. Muzzies and Queers have become especially prominent, and of course the "hero" is almost always female and often a minority of some sort.
White guys are the "comic relief" or the "bad guy."
Virtually everything on television lately seems to be following this pattern, including commercials.
*DEMAND* that Google promote black people to the majority of their positions.
Force the enemy to live up to his own book of rules.
I think what the good liberals of this nation need are to be displaced by other more deserving minorities.
