LEBANON, Ohio (WKRC) - A judge sentenced a former Springboro teacher to eight years in prison on Wednesday.
Hopkins molested 28 first grade girls at Clearcreek Elementary School. His actions were caught on surveillance video. He would nuzzle and kiss the girls, along with putting his hands on their thighs and other body parts and inside of their shirts.
Hopkins had told police he only gave side hugs and high fives. During his trial, prosecutors noted he didn't treat the first-grade boys the same way.
His defense attorneys said he was on the autism spectrum at the time of his trial.
Parents who'd seen the videos testified how they felt "appalled" and "disgusted" by Hopkins' behavior.
“[Hopkins] put her on his lap, spread her legs, tickle her, nuzzling and all while gym class was going on,” a father said in his testimony.
Hopkins could have received a maximum sentence of 170 years in prison.

There are two jobs that men should never be allowed to do. First, men should never babysit anybody’s kid unless it is a sibling. Two, men should never be elementary school teachers. In fact, any guy who wants to be a babysitter or an elementary school teacher Is likely a pedophile.

That's the real crime here, too lenient of a sentence.

Just 8 years . I say we need to defund teachers.
They shouldn’t be Priests either.
He’ll be out in 5 with good behavior if he doesn’t get killed in there or other prisoners “jam up his time”. When two people fight, they both get extra time. The guards don’t bother trying to figure out who’s right/wrong, or who started it.
I wish he could be burned at the stake. Or hanged, drawn and quartered like they used to do.
I agree but everyone doesn’t eat fresh and may not recognize the connection.
