Trump, and his economic advisors, did say that there is a lot of pent up demand out there waiting for the (insane) lockdown to be lifted.

Trump right again.

Look for another shoe to drop. The Democrats can’t have this.

They’ve known this was coming, too. There were articles circulating last week about Jason Furman, Obama’s economist, panicking Democrats with his prediction that we are about to see the best economic data we have ever seen. Is it any wonder that the George Floyd news was promoted immediately afterward?

Perhaps the biggest surprise, is the gain in the Leisure and hospitality sector (& the "sharp decline" in government employment).

"In May, employment rose sharply in leisure and hospitality, construction, education and health services, and retail trade. By contrast, employment in government continued to decline sharply.

He would not know the difference. A more dense economist has not been created by the All Mighty.

By contrast, employment in government continued to decline sharply.

In NYS the government workers are enjoying their third month off of paid vacation, no wonder the states are going broke and need bailouts.

Now that the rioters have disproved the Wuhanic Plague hoax, businesses aren't going to hold back.

I already see the ads running that haven't been for the last two months.

On a related note, one bit of commerce that I can already see is the shift of people and businesses from some of these Democrat bastions.
-Some believe the failure to protect them from the Armageddon Ailment has to be avoided in the future.
-Some believe the lockdown was tyranny and needs to be avoided in the future.
-Some believe the failure to quell the riots needs to be avoided in the future.

This is a gut punch for the Liberals because they depended on an extended recovery with accompanying bad news about how many YEARS it will take for the economy to bounce back.

Almost certainly. Unemployment figures will bounce around a bit before trending down consistently.

This is a gut punch for the Liberals because they depended on an extended recovery with accompanying bad news about how many YEARS it will take for the economy to bounce back.

It is going to take some time to completely recover and it will be a "U" shaped recovery rather than a "V" shaped recovery. But with all the gloom and doom about 20% unemployment, unemployment in the low teens in November will not hurt Trump as much as 20% unemployment would have.

If we see these numbers next month and for the July report the Administrations prophesy of a record setting GDP number for the 3rd quarter will be realized and at the worst possible times for the Liberal.

A record increase one month after record drop is probably not something you want to emphasize. Concentrate on unemployment and job growth.

This one had to sting. Via the Wall Street Journal - SURPRISING

Unemployment Rate Fell to 13.3% in May

The May U.S. jobless rate fell to 13.3% and employers added 2.5 million jobs, early signs the labor market is mending after the coronavirus pandemic shut down parts of the economy nearly three months ago. The jobless rate fell from 14.7% a month earlier, which was the highest on records dating from 1948.
