The groups origins date back to the 1920s. I have been looking for an original manifesto but can only find what appears to be an “updated 2017” version. Anybody have a link to an older version?
ANTIFA is organized crime. They are funded by criminals and act to violate the law.
Let them be labeled a domestic terrorist organization and let’s see if they like being targeted by defensive measures.
I don’t know if it’s a good idea or a bad idea, but it’s kind of pointless. AntiFa isn’t like the NRA or the NAACP. It’s not like people join it and get membership cards that get them discounts at Holiday Inn hotels.
Weren’t they the communist counter-party to the National-socialist party in Europe (obviously mostly in Germany).

Association to ANTIFA once suspected or proven, automatically gives probable cause to investigate and crack open their life. That is uniform across the entire LEO spectrum, local/state/federal.
From a DoD perspective to collect and retain information on a US person, there has to be an exemption. Terrorism is one of the exemptions. When the National Guard is federalized, they go by DoD authorities, not their states.
I used to work counter IED network issues for Uncle Sugar and Intelligence Oversight is a big deal in that area.
