My wife and I got ours about 3 weeks ago via direct deposit.
My wife’s mother has not yet received hers. She’s in a nursing home and part (probably most) of the bill is paid by Medicaid. I’m guessing that the Medicaid makes her ineligible but I don’t know for sure.
It was a joke. Many, many acronyms are 3 letters and thus the joke about TLAs, which is itself a three letter acronym.
My daughter lives on SSI. SS deposits her SSI check into her checking account the first of every month. She has not received her stimulus check yet/either. I got onto the irs.gov website with her data and it came back:
*************************************
We are unable to provide the status of your payment right now because:
- We don’t have enough information yet (we’re working on this), or
- You’re not eligible for a payment.
*****************************************
Now there is a twist to her SSI. We are in charge of the spending. I can’t remember the qualification phrase SS uses for controlled accounts. Wonder if this will be a problem???
They ares saving them for when pelousi’s bill passes and illegal can now get it, they will go first
“2. You’re receiving a paper check”
That’s what happened to me, though my SSI and Tax Returns are eFiled and go directly into my bank account. No biggie.
7.IRS is a terrible bureaucracy.
On the website, for awhile I was rejected for trying too often,,,the first time. Then, it wouldn’t recognize my address. Tried different combos and finally dropped the North (N.) from street and got in. Next, they don’t recognize me...period...after having filed tax returns since 1961. (Although ironically they say I am eligible.) The canned excuse is something like “we may not have processed your return yet”.
Well, that data was wrong in my case. But I’m just one data point.
“5. It’s been seized by your bank or a collection agency”
Aren’t the stimulus checks exempt from being garnished because of judgements?
A violation of the 14th amendment. All taxpayers are to be treated equally.
Ditto that
I have in-laws (Filipina married to my brother) had ITIN’s, and eventually became (some) into US citizens. If she moved to SSN, then it’s green card provisional?
Are you sure it’s a legit check?
President Donald I. Trump?
The 4th time?
Im in the same boat. Got the direct deposit set up( I always pay taxes each year) and the IRS website said my check would be deposited on 5/13/20. Here I sit 4 days after the scheduled deposit date and no money. IRS webpage still says to be deposited last Wednesday. Government efficiency. And hell no I do not want those bastards in charge of health insurance.
Of course not a single reason listed that it could be the inefficiency of the IRS.
Wouldn’t want to blame them, now would we.
Yes. In Nov it will be the 4th time

The I is kinda close to the J on my typewriter.
You can see by my tagline that I’m fully aware of his middle name though!!
Glad I got the paper check. Maybe I’ll make a “copy” for a best president ever keepsake!
Apparently mine is two weeks overdue.
We are working with a group trying to help an elderly couple who finally made the abusing son leave their home. His help was the reason they could pay all their bills.
Both get their SS via direct deposit - husband got his the first week of distribution. Wife still doesn’t have hers. I’m praying she will receive a check (someone else we know on ss got a check when ss is direct deposited - go figure!). Praying the abusing son hasn’t been claiming her as dependent on his tax returns - thereby stealing this bit of help.
Both are desperate to get to eye dr for new glasses!
After being informed by the IRS webpage that my money would be direct deposited on 5/13, today I sign in and now it shows a check to be mailed 5/22. Unbelievable! No, this is literally unbelievable.
