Knowing that this sort of thing has happened already, why on God’s green earth would you take a young child to a protest?

There’s no excuse for what the police did, at all, ever, however, reality is, if you take your child, you are both at risk of something like this happening.

That poor child is going to be traumatized for a long time, and guess who’s going to be sitting up with him at night when he wakes up with nightmares? It won’t be the cops.

Who in America would ever expect this to happen?
They weren’t planning to break any laws. You might as well say it’s dangerous to take your child to a park since several parents have been arrested for letting their child play on empty playgrounds & parks.

Totally unnecessary.

On the one hand, all they needed to do, if anything, was to take mother with her son to a police station and issue the mother a desk appearance ticket for a future court date. That’s all. What she was doing was a civil offense if it was anything at all, not a criminal offense, and they needn’t have treated her like a criminal.

On the other hand, her right or not, I do not believe in parents involving their children in any political protests. At the kids level of maturity and intelligence it is indoctrination (whether right or not) and not education, and it uses the children as props. They are too immature, in experience, maturity and education to truly understand what its all about.

This kind of thing is going to be happening more and more. Saying one has certain rights and then actually exercising them are two very different things. Best to learn hard lessons now.
