Constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley pushed back on former President Barack Obama’s warning that the "rule of law is at risk" after the Justice Department dropped charges against former national security adviser retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.
“The news over the last 24 hours I think has been somewhat downplayed — about the Justice Department dropping charges against Michael Flynn,” Obama was quoted saying Friday.
“And the fact that there is no precedent that anybody can find for somebody who has been charged with perjury just getting off scot-free. That’s the kind of stuff where you begin to get worried that basic, not just institutional norms, but our basic understanding of rule of law is at risk. And when you start moving in those directions, it can accelerate pretty quickly as we’ve seen in other places," he said.
Turley wrote on Twitter of Obama’s statement, "'There is no precedent that anybody can find for someone who has been charged with perjury just getting off scot-free' was a 'curious statement' for several reasons."

I’d like to see the same precedent statement from the Clintons. We all know with 100% certainty that Bill Clinton committed perjury, lying under oath, and the proof is as convincing as DNA on a blue dress. There is a lot of precedent for getting away with perjury, either because the accused is a democrat and thus above the law or because the prosecutor is a democrat and thus a corrupt abuser of power.

I understand the risks involved and the reason the founding fathers included that but I know people from communist countries who have been here awhile who are more patriotic than anybody I know. I think many Americans would sell us up the river before they would.
Too many of us are used to our freedoms. To them it is a miracle and precious
and last I checked Joe Biden Nancy pelosi Dianne feinstein Maxine Waters Al Gore John Kerry and a whole hell of a lot more werr born in America and could hold the position of President of the United States.
I can think of many that weren’t born here who I would rather see in the office.
That being said I think it is a smart thing they didn’t. Why take the chance? Obama is no good. But Bill Clinton was born here and he sold us out to China more than anyone else.

There is a difference. Turley is an actual lawyer. Obama just plays a constitutional scholar on TV having gotten his law degree from the usual cracker jack box - Harvard.
What is at risk is their rules for our laws.

Turley is an old fashioned liberal, from a bye gone era when they were a worthy opposition party. Leftists have made classic liberalism all but extinct.
Oddly Turley is a left winger when it comes to politics. However, Mr Turley's core beliefs are the constitution as written. His political beliefs are wrong. His support of our constitution as written is 100% correct.
Mr. Turley is one of the good guys. He supports and believes in our constitution as written. He is a liberal but an honorable liberal that supports the same constitution this conservative constitutional supports.
